For the DC super powers collection, I'm not impressed. I was hoping for Miss Martian, Speedy (Mia Dearden), merlyn, count verttigo or Clarion the witchboy would have been a surprise. Why didn't you bring them in instead of showing what you brought to Toy fair 2014?

I really hope they do continue the minifigs, but at the same time I don't want them to do any more. If they stop with only one wave, it will be easier for me to justify the costs since I won't get sucked into another ongoing toy line.

On the other hand, having both Castle Grayskull and Snake Mountain in the same style and scale would be pretty cool.

At least we know there IS a limit. I'm sure you'd agree with me that having a 6-figure limit is better than having no limit at all.

But at the same time I do think that 6 is an odd choice for a limit and I'm curious how Mattel came to that decision. I could easily see (and somewhat justify) up to 3 per person at most, but anything over that seems like overkill.

The SDCC limit question and "answer" is a joke.

This reminds me of that video from SDCC about 2-3 years ago where Hasbro was turning people away and there guys yelling and screaming and getting ready to cry because they had been waiting in line for so long.

the 6 figure limit is a good thing. At SDCC in the past Scalpers would buy 20 Items then post them online for twice what they paid taking items from legit fans when companies set a 5 per person limit. It happened with SDCC exclusive Monster High items, the Gleek, and other such items. A friend of mine who went told me they would pass the ID's around then people would leave Comic Con with more then what Hasbro or Mattel would allow. They just pass the ID to their wife waiting 6 people back on line.

Ok How are you going to push a club through when you did not get 100% you told DC Fans they would not get their club but when the March club fell short you pushed through any way. Why?

The Etheria sub was what 97%, that is only 3% from goal, which lets be honest, a 100% goal is always more than the minimum. The DC CIE sub only got to about 60%-70%??? that is not "Close Enough" in anyone's book. I will miss the DC Classics as much as anyone. I have Every figure (not counting variants) and I am happy it got that far. I hate getting into a line and then after series 2 they stop. (I'm talking to you NECA....Prometheus, Left for Dead, Boarderlands, Female Gremlin, ..ect. All lines that had things in the works and dumped) I am happy to have a gigantic DC collection, but time to move on to something else. I will get my last 5 figures this year and my DC collection will be done.

to me 100% should mean 100% not 97% it failed. So this just proved Scott will do anything to keep MOTU stuff out and could careless about anything else. Hopefully this summer MOTU will meet it's long overdue ending

Too bad CIE didn't get even close to 97%. Then Mattel might have gone forward anyway. Especially when you consider the completely logical and plausible explanation that Scott gave in the PR on exactly how they were able to still go forward with the MOTUC sub.

No, it doesn't prove anything. Now if the MOTUC had only gotten - oh, I don't know - a random number like 63% of its goal and Mattel still went forward with it? Then you might be on to something. It still wouldn't prove anything, but it would certainly lend more credibility to your conspiracy theory.

Wait, what? How did Paypal get involved in this?

Honestly I see no difference between the numbers. Weather it's 63% or 99%, if you don't get 100% it should be a no go. The reason Mattel gave was "We don't want to be a Twigget". In this case they should not have moved forward when not 8 months ago a similar outcome ended the DC sub. And I feel all DC Clubers should be upset by this. Had the DC Club gotten 97% I would have expected it to be cancelled. Scott said "We need a 100% commitment to move forward" 97% is not 100% that's all there to it

Is that all the further you read? Because the next paragraph explicitly states that the quotas for the day-of-sale stock would be extremely low. That basically confirmed that the "100%" mark for Tier 1 subs includes not only the cost of all the figures made for the subs, but also extras for DOS purchases (as well as some for exchanges/defects, I'd imagine).

If you want, I can go over the economics and business side of things to make this easier to understand (via PM, of course), but I honestly don't think it's worth the effort.

Oh, that. I am a little surprised that they haven't tried to re-visit the idea, especially with how much Paypal has grown since its inception. Maybe Paypal doesn't want to deal with Digital River, either.

Wait a minute, they did a thermometer for the Etheria sub and then when it did not hit, they still went ahead with it?

That's how it got there ha, I'm thinking you are right Paypal probably didn't understand how messed up Matty was I wonder if it was Paypal that pulled out from them ha.

They may just be too ashamed to say it.

I think that Paypal would not want to deal with Digital River considering that in 2010 over 200,000 customers information was stolen. Paypal has a much better track record.

Wow, just wow. Yeah, it should be 100% or not at all. Then again, in 2012 they only hit about 85% of what they needed for the DC sub and still went ahead with it. Nevertheless, it does show that Mattel's quota for anything He-Man related means very little.

No it doesn't. It shows that they over-estimate the costs for financing the sub on purpose so they can have additional product to sell to non-subscribers as well. If going through with the sub means dropping some or most of those extras, then apparently Mattel is willing to do that (and has done it twice now).

Ironically, if we went solely by that all-or-nothing logic, the CIE sub should have already ended two years ago.

Well two years ago Mattel never posted a thermometer. Ultimately they became their own worst enemy by saying "If you want these items you need to Subscribe" then allowing day of sales. Of course people wont want to throw $300 - $500 when they only want 12% of whats put out. Notice Mattel never did a satisfaction email? This year I expect to hear the MOTU sub got less people and I am sure almost no DC people took the offer of 20 figures they really didn't want for 12 they do or might.

Is Mattel working with Digital River to resolve the Early Access issues? Those being non US customers cannot log in to get Items

I know this will likely not be answered... With the Total Heroes Ultra figure being pulled from Mattycollector will the quota decrease?

it would say "Sold Out" if they were like Aquaman or Red Hood. It says "No Longer Available"
