Mattel's Movie Master lines are a joke. They show off like 8 figures but only actually release half of them in stores. I still have yet to see Zod. It's just like their GL movie line. They made this promise that they were going to do 12 figures to form Parallax and they only released 4 of them in stores and I think 4 more online.
As for this I think they did them regionally in my area Green Lantern only saw Hal, Tomar Re, Naut Ki Loi, and Rot Lop Fan. Batman only saw Batman and Bane and One per region Catwoman, Alfred, GCPD Robin. And Man of Steel Superman, Zod, and one per region Jor-El

1. You really shouldn't speak in absolutes, even in hyperbole. Not everything they do is hypothetical.
2. Retail lines and Subscription lines are not the same thing, and have different rules.
3. Any information regarding Sub figures from Mattel goes through their legal department first to make sure it's OK for them to release the info. When it comes to fans' questions, it's a lot easier for them to just not answer than run it (and several others like it) through Legal. Especially if the answer is still "No comment".

More likely that you have some collectors and/scalpers in your area snatching them up. Or even more likely it's due to the overstock of wave one for each of those series, making retailers slow to stock subsequent waves.

The only figure in your list that I personally never saw at retail was Robin from TDKR. Then again, I don't collect them so I really didn't give it a second thought other than "Hey, JGL. Loved you in 3rd Rock and Inception. TDKR was good, but the ending was kind of meh."

The problem with the mentality that Fans get fed up with not being told what they are going to spend money on.. I applies to everything. Your going to buy what you want not whats jammed in front of you Mattel has made the mistake of believing "We can do what we want when we have peoples money." And be it Retail or Online really they can't.

So basically it I was to make a sub where if it goes thorough you will get this... That's not Hypothetical. The only things not Hypothetical in life is Death and Taxes

Treb you didn't shop in my area or as far as I know Dr. Cains. I never saw it in my opinion it was never in the store. Maybe these companies start sending the non main characters in higher numbers and the mains in 2 or 3 because the Main characters sit on the shelves for years. Hell I never saw a single Batman TV line figure in my area but I was in Atlantic City, NJ and saw them

Correct, but your question was not about a subscription-based toy line, which has its own set of rules (as I pointed out earlier). Your "hypothetical", as you yourself called it, was regarding a retail line (Movie Masters).

Speaking of which, didn't Mattel already say that this Q&A would only handle questions regarding MattyCollector.com stuff and NOT retail lines? That pretty much renders this conversation moot.

I never said I did. You seem to have missed the point of that post, but I will not derail this thread any further off-topic. PM me if you wish to discuss this further.

It's not really fully Retail.... Last year The Zod/Superman was an SDCC exclusive that was a Movie Masters Item.

Trebshot I wont PM you if I don't have to.

Yeah, the question had NOTHING to even do with the sub. It was just a simple yes or no question and they gave a full on wordy unnecessary explanation for it.

And Mxyz coming with the "biggest" piece means nothing. The Kalibak torso is not that big to begin with. Not to mention the torso and the figure it came with, a fully articulated 6 inch figure, was $10. Now they want $30 for a figure with three points of articulation and the same torso. Hell, I think the DCD Mxyz has more posseability than that thing. I should just hunt down that one.

Surprised they did not put an entire backstory behind that answer though.

Don't even bother trying to ask the Retail team anything they haven't answered a question since Last August

they say 2016 is too far off but the problem with that is that DCC will likely have Superman vs Batman figures months before the movie comes out. Hasbro had Captain America 2 and Spider-Man 2 figures out 5 months before the movies.

That's not what they meant. 2016 is too far away for them to talk about it right now. It doesn't automatically mean there won't be any. I would say that Mattel's probably already started working on some things (given the average 1- to 2-year development cycle for toys), but it is way too early in the process for them to speak publicly about it.

I fully understand I'm just glad it wasn't a cookie cutter answer "Tier 1" or "We cannot comment" and in a way it show there is some commitment to DC.

Since the introduction of the Multiverse line in Janaury we've seen one wave with a second half wave starting to trickle out. Indications seem to be that line selling out. Are there any plans to expand the line or increase the wave of six figures every six months pace?
Are there any plans to expand the line beyond the Supeman/Catwoman wave 2.5?

will the packaging of Bound Doomsday be like Shazam! last year or the Mailer white and aBox with a bio? I personally would like to see a outer box that resembles the prison then the inner similar with a window showing the Beast (by the way while yes we want Doomsday this is not the Doomsday style we wanted)

Sometimes I really think that Mattel stays in business for no other reason than because they're big. It's very rare for me to see Mattel toys for sale anywhere and when I do it's literally the same couple of shelfwarmers that have been there for months (they're actually dusty). But now that we're getting Batman Animated figures from DC Direct, who still gives a damn about Mattel?

Oh, but I have a question! Is Mattel making any plans for new lines on MattyCollector or just waiting for MOTUC to end so they can lock the doors and turn off the lights?

I think when MOTUC ends that's it for Scott Neitlich they will blame him then fire him give him big fat severance package then they will start playing what do we do now... You might see a Step Back, you might see the companies that contract Mattel for products (EG Ghostbusters, Voltron, Disney Cars/Planes, WWE, DC) pull their rights. As it is there is no certain MOTU Movie every time it gets talked about it gets killed I'd say if there is no movie by 2020 there never will be

That's a shame because I think something like MattyCollector would work great if it weren't run so stupidly at every level both above and below Scott Neitlich with no plans for the future except to dither as it slowly winds down.

I keep waiting for them to start a WWE club once they do that then they are done for. The Clubs have proven ineffective people would rather flip a coin on Brick and Mortar then have certainty of delivery.

The problem for Mattel in general is they make stuff the Appeals to 12% of the people buying. The DC Club was a prime example. The Figure released Flash I, Atrocitus, Starman V, Mirror Master, Black Mask, Poison Ivy, Uncle Sam, Constantine, Platinum, Saint Walker, Phantom Stranger, Elongated Man, Larfleeze, Flash III, Red Hood, Captain Marvel Jr, Fire, Huntress, Ocean Master, Ra's Al Ghul, Batzaro, Aquaman, Ice, Superboy, Robin IV, Red Rocket, Elasti-girl, Lead, Monsiur Mallah, Doomsday, Metron, Tin, and Dollman I can tell you I didn't care for Starman, Mirror Master, Constantine, or Phantom Stanger, But I really didn't want the Version Red Rocket, Red Hood or Doomsday, Batzaro was/is a let down that nobody wanted. Honestly Mattel didn't get the numbers they wanted then Halfassed it and saw people not sign up then they blamed the customers

are you guys the ones behind these?
Amazon.com: DC Collectibles DC Comics - The New 52: Batgirl Action Figure: Toys & Games
And if so, do you intend to make a proper long running line? If so congratulations, you've acquired my money and desire for once xD

That's by DC Collectibles, not by Mattel. Mattel's New 52 Batgirl was from wave 1 of their Batman Unlimited line and has a glossy finish, as well as a bit more articulation.
