Crap like this is gonna make people skip the single carded figures 'cuz they'll assume a multipack is coming, which will make Todd not wanna do a multipack since the single carded figures won't sell! It's a vicious cycle!

No toy sites had the link to the Walmart site. Walmart is just ridiculous. You can’t even find the event on Walmart’s site. I found it by google.

Was looking for the Star Wars stuff when I accidentally found this. So glad I didn't pay the $99 each these suckers are going for on Ebay.

Kind of a slap in the face for everyone that went out of their way to hunt down the original releases!

I know people are going to like what they like, but the paint apps on these look super crappy. the paint looks thick, sloppy, and completely without subtly. they look like ten dollar figures to begin with.

It's reasons like this that makes me wish toy companies would stop giving Walmart and Target exclusives. Their websites are so ill-equipped to handle preorders and you typically have to use Google to find something on either website.

I mean, that's pretty much all McFarlane releases. Thick paint that looks like caked on makeup and no details.

I'm not quite sure what the bigger irony is. Offered through Walmart, no publicity, already sold out, a full set of something people hunted and traded diligently for, or the aftermarket pricing.

At least I get why this sold out fast. $39.99 for BWL plus all three Robin variations is a steal even if they weren't all insane on the aftermarket.

Screw McFarlane and screw his store exclusives. This trash is ruining the whole hobby. This is the set I've been waiting for and making it an exclusive is a slap in the face.

There's no shame in walking away from this hobby but unfortunately, people will still buy these elusive exclusives and others will scalp them to death.

A lot of the figures don't use too many paints apps(which is a detriment at times) but there is a lot of detail. When your only other option is a $90+ figure. You can forgive/ignore certain things.

Part of this is due to a lack of competition for certain licenses. Hasbro is the same boat. No one get's to produce figures of DC/Marvel at certain scales with a high degree of articulation for similar prices.

If SHF/Mafex did a $35 version of the figures, you know more people would jump ship.

Now as to exclusives. Let's not pretend Mcfarlane is the only one doing it. But Mcfarlane is doing it the worst from the producer side of things.

The other coin to the stores screwing up for customers. The exclusives are very hard to get from Target and Walmart despite having thousands of locations all over the country. Despite having an online system.

When exclusives are announced for BBTS/Dorkside/EE, there's never really a problem. Stock is just going to be finite. Gamestop sits in the middle of these two.

I think this Walmart exclusive would have been fine if they gave people more a heads up and increased inventory to more acceptable amounts. In the US at least, would there be a problem if it was an online only exclusive with a suitable amount of stock?

Walmart just canceled my preorder with the reason it's "out of stock". Online text chat and phone customer service were both zero help. They said keep checking back to reorder. The phone customer service lady said it looks like they canceled all the preorders so IDK. I told her i would have waited another two years for the figures i don't CARE how long it takes. So i guess we'll have another wild west free-for-all for these figures on the website at some random time in the future.

I think they finally realized that selling the 4-pack for $40 was going to be a financial loss for them.

Meanwhile, they finally came to their senses and lowered the price for King Shark somewhat, down to $60 from a ridiculous $90-plus.

Amazingly enough, some people got theirs today, and it's back in stock again.
