〞You cannot pass! I am the servant of the Secret Fire, wielder of the Flame of Anor. The dark fire will not avail you! Flame of Udûn! Go back to the shadow… YOU SHALL NOT PASS!” 🔥
Introducing the latest addition to our 8-inch Limited Articulation line… The Balrog!
This figure features an authentic, realistic and fully detailed likeness of the Balrog from the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Visually, just as menacing as seen on screen, with semi translucent fire and a cracking whip!
This beast features 5 points of articulation and is a must for any evil collection!
Expected to be shipped in November 2021, pre-order a copy nowhttps://store.asmustoys.com//product...e-LOTR8BLG.htm

These are the most beautiful pieces of art I’ve ever seen. I almost hate looking at them, knowing I can’t afford them, nor do I have the space. That does not stop from looking though.

This looks pretty good and I'm okay with limited articulation on something like this. That seems like a good price too. I'd like to know what their accompanying LOTR figures will look like. I wasn't feeling the current Diamond Select figures.

As someone who's never dealt with Asmus before, what are the odds this will be in scale with anything else they do with the license? Like a dio or something

I wonder what the points of articulation are? It doesn't look like the arms or legs move.

This 8" line is new, the only other thing up for order so far is Lurtz.

I would almost guarantee they'll do a Gandalf because it would go so well.

Any idea how tall that Gandalf would be? I can't find any concrete numbers for the VFX model

The line is an 8" line, so I would assume about 8", probably a little taller since he's a tall character. They just started it.

So you don't think they'll do anything in scale with the Balrog?

I don't remember how much larger the Balrog was than Gandalf, I thought this was in an 8" scale rather than everything being 8" tall. I guess we'll see.

And the thread title says 1/8 scale, so it's all confusing! But I don't trust the communication skills of anyone who spells "aesthetic" as "esthetic" like on the company's site

(products and procedures to increase one's beauty or aesthetic is an esthetic. It's a beauty industry term. It can be confusing, like effect vs affect, but there is a difference and it's the job of the people writing copy to know these things)

(Also, what's up with all the people who say "ess-tet-ik"? There's a "th" right there no matter how you spell it

Asmus are notoriously poor at spelling, grammar and accurately quoting dialogue from the movies; just read the insert on their Crown Series Gandalf box to see what I mean.

There was no chance they’d ever make this in 1:8 scale so an 11 inch will have to suffice. I’d like to see some ‘in-hand’ pics before picking it up.

Ahh, ok. I remember seeing Lurtz now, didn't realize this was the same line. So even the normal figures are limited to more of an action statue.
