Looks like McFaarlne toys is going to be making toys based off Assassin's Creed III: Assassin's Creed Figures Coming From McFarlane Toys This Summer - IGN

I'm kind of excited I've never purchased a McFarlane toy before

They were not able to get the license and their existing Assassins Creed/II/Brotherhood/Revelations license has expired.

There is only one reason I am happy, and that is because the articulation on these will not be as hindered.

However there is plenty for me to be disappointed with. For one thing, it's McFarlane. The Halo figures are decent but being that they are mostly PVC(and I know NECA's stuff is mostly PVC too but it's like a different grade), my excitement is lessened. Moreso because I've had bad experiences handling some figures from McFarlane using the material. Loose grips, stuck joints, joint breakage, et al.

Hopefully these will turn out alright. However I was used to having my AC figures in 7" scale and these figures do not hide articulation as well as NECA does.

I am looking forward to seeing how poseable this and other figures may be. Hopefully we get an Altaire, Rodrigo Borgia, Al Mualim and a couple versions of Ezio in this line.

I'm fairly concerned as well. McFarlane's track record is far from spectacular and I loved what NECA did with their line. The only plus I see is that these figures might be much more readily available to the consumers. They might sell these at target and that'd make me all sorts of happy.

Agreed on all points. What I loved with NECA was that they were able to find that balance between high articulation and sculpt, whereas this McFarlane Connor already looks like a toy straight up. Look at those pinned joints. NECA did a better job having joints but hiding them. In the years McFarlane has been around it doesn't seem like their plastic quality has really changed either.

Their willingness to make big lines around a fairly limited cast(HALO), gives me some hope. So we'll see.

Mcfarlane toys are not what they used to be. They say this will be 6" more like 5.5 at best.

That's what I think too, in fact I think they said the same about their Halo 4 figures initially.

My one problem about the Halo line, much like PAK, is that they are in their own weird scale.

Hmmm, I am waiting for a NECA Connor but I may pick these up. I shall wait for more up close pics of them to make a decision.

Edit: Just read Shin's post "They were not able to get the license and their existing Assassins Creed/II/Brotherhood/Revelations license has expired." And I am now sad. I was really hoping for all my Ezio's and Altair to stand with Connor.

This really sucks big time. Bad news. Can't believe this fell on the wrong hands. Shame that NECA can't continue the line.

The "joescale" will kill the industry. Mcfarlane done a lot of great figures in the past, now they make poor quality figures with less details... and tinier. What a pity. I have 30 figures from Halo Mcfarlane (and older figures from alien, predators, movies maniacs, spawn, manga, dragons, etc, etc), but I was disapointed with the paint app in the last years with the 5.5'' scale, or stuck joints or bent pieces, I'm thinking to sell everything and dedicate only on Kotobukiya figures or PAKs.

I own dozens of McFarlane's Halo toys, and every single one has significant quality control issues. Loose joints, crooked molding, joints glued stiff, ratcheting joints that don't allow normal upright poses, inexplicable inaccuracies that are not mistakes (such as the elongated wrists on the Elites), limited range of motion, weapons that can't be held properly, limbs assembled incorrectly through an entire run (the lower legs of the Grunts), armor pieces glued upside down through an entire run (the Halo 3 Marines).

There is extensive customizing in my McFarlane Halo collection.
You might wonder why I own so many, and the answer is simple. McFarlane produces the best Halo toys, and I'm idiotically in love with the franchise (except for Halo Wars, the Forerunner novels, and the new games starting with Halo4). And I'm a customizer, so I get a lot of practice out of them.

Awesome, so we can go from fully articulated fragile figures to no articulated stactions.

They do? Maybe the articulation in the AC figures are just restricted due to the costumes.

I've only ever bought NECA's Aliens and Predator toys, and the articulation varies. The xenomorph I bought has ridiculously limited articulation, while the handful of Predators I've bought all have a lot of articulation. Still, NECA's quality control, paint apps, and sculpts are immensely superior to McFarlane. I really do wish NECA had the Halo license.

Yep. AC are restricted by costumes/sculpt but even so, the Halo figures still have more articulation.

It does vary but the Assassin's Creed and later Player Select figures tend to have a high amount of articulation. It's just that the Assassin's Creed figures are hindered by their sculpts. Beautiful for sure, but it limits the range of motion for the joints that are there.
