My understanding was that Magik is the character you get at the end of the AvX spec ops. And still supposed to be Phoenix 5. Emma, Colossus, Cyclops, Magik, and the last is supposed to be a surprise. Though, most say it'll be Jean Grey as the Epic for Mission Three. That's just what I've heard though.

Up to 48 myself, as much as I want to recruit another hero for deployment going to wait too...especially since the drop ratio sucks.
When I got Emma, I noticed 4 blank slots next to hers....probably next month is when we'll start seeing the new hero.
Just going to 5 star this current special ops even though I don't have the other hero's to deploy just so I can get the 5 CP's.

I heard the last one is suppose to be you, the agent, which is garbage compared to Namor. I hate the agents, if i had a choice they would be benched the whole time and I'll pick three noteworthy characters, but that's just me.

Seriously? The surprise is the Agent? That's so stupid. I would be happier if the surprise was Squirrel Girl as the fifth member. That's a step up from the Agent.

And dude, I totally hate it too. I mean, being a Facebook game, I can see why they went with it. But, three heroes of choice would have been better. It gets really irritating getting to only choose two. Personally, I would prefer the Marvel Ultimate Alliance Option and you could get four, and have like the entire Fantastic Four in the battle. But, that would increase the opponents, and fights could last a while, which would get both irritating and boring. But, yeah, I wish it was just the actual Marvel characters.

Another minor tip, if you can/want, stick to a general theme. Meaning, use characters that notably have a relationship to eachother. For example using War Machine and Iron Man on your team adds a point bonus of Tin Men after every battle. Helps you score the most out of your battles when you're trying to five-star shit.

So I blew most of my gold and CP just to get Scarlet Witch because her hex rocks. It was worth it to me, but now I must ask, outside of just choosing my favorite heroes/characters, what ones are really good to have? Are there certain ones I should really be focusing on unlocking next?

Scarlet Witch and Captain America are generally considered the best heroes in the game (and Emma too). Nightcrawler and Thing are generally considered to be the worst heroes (with Pheonix sometimes being mentioned as well). Everyone else is sorta in between and you can't really go wrong with them. May want to focus on characters that unlock epic bosses or the 6th mission of each chapter.

Yup that's why I tend to use the X-Men on my team, I tend to get an "X-Force" bonus.

No clue, but yes SW is so freaking powerful even just on level one for her. That being said I wonder if the Phoenix costumes will be just as powerful as SW...

Spider-Man is kind of too, him and Cap are the most annoying to play against during PVP...

The BEST way to beat Cap teams is Shadowcat. Not only is she infiltrator which gives her an edge against Tacticians, but after she attacks, she's phased and cannot be harmed by his shield bash. Of course phase don't last, so you have to plan out your moves carefully, but she definitely is a great counter pick against him.

Where's a good site for a strategy guide for the game? I'm wanting to 5 star the missions that I have the hero deployments for, but don't want to waste the energy on going in and realizing I don't have the required hero.

I stick to the Wiki page.

But i occassionaly drop by the official forums by Playdom (but expect a lot of elitist jerks, there are some great people and help there, but they are shrouded in the masses of jerks lol)

As a low level, is there really just no way I will complete spec ops to get Emma? Should I even be trying? Or just concentrate on getting through regular stuff right now?

What step are you on right now?

Without knowing exactly what characters you have and that you are low in level, I'd say you'll probably have to shell out some money to blow past a couple of the more annoying quests, especially the last one where you need pheonix/colossus/sw.

Being high level and having all the characters, I was able to get Emma in about 12 days. Really, the hardest part is being patient for your daily 50 u-iso. I ended up not spending a single gold bar or any real money. Just slow and steady.

seeing as you just started 3 days ago I think it will be very tough to do it. I came in at the end of Mockingbird and pretty much just wasted my time and Energy. Already having SW though and just needing to buy Phoenix I was able to get Emma in 7-10 days, can't remember. At the time I think I was in the level 80's. I also haven't spent any real money but did use the occasional gold bar or 2. Not really using them on anything else anyway.
BTW, itMFtis, what do you use your gold on personally?

I bought 5 of the 6 trench coats and, recently, got a quantum jumper. The coats are like 24 gold each and the jumper was in the 30's. I also used a bunch of gold back in the day on converting to cp...although I don't really regret that. Cp never truly gets wasted in this game.

I'm level 21 now and decided there is no way I can get Emma without spending gold (which I don't want to do). I did the first level of spec ops and that was it. So I at least got to use Emma lol

that's true about the CP. As far as the coats go I've just gotten the level 4 or 5 ones that cost 100k

Ya I think these special ops are for folks who are at a high enough level and have the heroes other than that, you can forget it.

I was the same as well with MB, def. prefer Emma though over MB, and she def. was a lot easier to get, the fact that once you unlocked her you get her, unlike MB well you had to still use CP's to get her after you unlocked her....

I'm 5 CP from getting Rogue, and I almost 5-star a mission, so i should get her later today..

but looking at her skills, they seem boring. i really dislike that they gave her the Ms. Marvel powers since she's been able to control her powers...

her only passive is flight, which in my opinion sucks...cause she can't fly anymore like i said she doesnt have her Ms. Marvel powers anymore. her passive should've been if someone attacks her, she has a chance of stealing attacker's life or stamina since if you touch her, she drains you.

i feel like its a disappointment considering she's 90cp, but maybe once i play her, i might feel differently, but right now im not impressed.

I think mainly cuz they stuck to 90's Rogue, it's basically 90's Rogue's powers. Which is what peeps are more used to.

Cool let us know than...you would think she would be powerful, but than I guess it's kind of good that she's not or we would have way too many powerful heroe's, at the same time though 90 dang...
