Nice! $27.99's not awful. I wonder how much they'll be at Walmart, $19.97?

Saw wave 2 of these today at of all places Walmart. I assume it was wave 2 since all that was there were Ult. Thor, Ult. Hawkeye, and repaints of IM from the IM toyline, 2 Cap repaints from the Cap. movie, and a repaint of the helmeted Thor from the Thor movie. Picked up a Hawkeye for a friend but they were an easy pass for me.

Just picked up movie Cap, Ult Thor, and Cosmic Loki from TRU, and I think they look awesome. The articulation is similar to the spiderman line, which isn't good, but if you can get past them not having 30 points of articulation, they are super well made. Paints are good, size is to scale, etc. I hope they have some surprises later down the line, because this is a perfect opportunity to throw in some obscure Avengers to fill in later waves.

For whatever reason, Walmarts almost always seem to wait a month after everyone else to put out a new toyline. The only exception was Thundercats, where it was Target that stalled. Any Hasbro line, though, walmarts around me always seem to lag getting stuff out, and then they put out the first waves everyone already has, and it takes forever to get new stuff.

Slap an Autobot sticker on it and call it "exclusive" and you'd get twice as much.
That Cap colored version is pretty awful looking though- it was better as war Machine- the star on it's front looks like it would be on it's gut, making it a bad "fat, war-mongering american" joke waiting to happen. This is why the world hates us, Steve! |

Probably when the movie hits...or just prior.
Wave one has not hit much of the country yet even. |

I want the ironman one, but at those prices, I could get a hisstank. That's what I'd buy instead.
Speaking of which I really need to swing by TRU soon and see if they still have the red hisstanks. I think I'm going to bite and get one to go with shield/hydra stuff. |

Hydra would at least provide some protection for their gunners- retraining replacment cannon fodder aint cheap!
I need to score some Trouble-bubbles for my AIM crew- some wag at Onyx's forums did that and it's awesome! Regarding these IM mechs...you could make some bitchin' Hydra mech suits by modifying the faceplate some (so it's not obviously IM) and painting it a nice green- Besides, they look much more like something Iron Man and SHIELD would fight rather than use! |

Just picked up my first Avenger toy (Ult Thor) for $9 at Walmart. While I do miss midsection and wrist/ankle articulation, the new hip joint is a huge improvement over the previous movie line hips. Not sure how to describe it except that you don't have to rotate the ball joint beforehand to get the angle you want, which was a minor annoyance with the movie figs.
As for Thor himself, he's way better than I expected. I only wish that his elbows and knees could bend 90 degrees, if not more. Even with single joints, I know they can do better than 60 degrees or less which is what I'm getting out of him. Otherwise, solid sculpt and paint. Quite please with this purchase. |

the iron man one is acceptible if ytou pretend its a hulkbuster armor. it is used correctly though, a suit within a suit. The cap one would own as a Detroit Steel custom. I can riip off the gatling guns from my matrix mech.

^ That's how I'd treat them if I bought any. I'm definitely one who will wait for it to hit a sale or clearance, though. Might repaint Cap as War Machine, though. Shouldn't he have a Hulkbuster version in case Tony is, oh I don't know, stuck in an alternate universe or something?

The part of his run I actually enjoyed as Stark: Disassembled. But I think it's because the Ghost was running around in that, and I'm a sucker for the Ghost |
