hopefully they will still make a war machine version later as a repaint I so dont want the cap version. as of now Im definitely getting the iron man one, the quinn jet looks promising depending on the size not wanting something too big and Im on the fences on the 3.75 figures the loss of articulation is a losing point with them.

Building upon the UK Toy Fair Avengers Movie Toy Info posted earlier this week, we can now see just how limited the articulation is, on the mainline figures. If you were looking forward to Ultimate Hawkeye and Ultimate Thor, perhaps you might want to take a closer look. They lack abdominal articulation, and in lieu of double jointed knees, they know feature ball jointed knees. Seems like some of the mainline figures lack ankle joints and wrist swivels. This makes their articulation style closer to the 3-3/4" Spiderman line than it does to anything else.
It's MOVIE toys... is this really a surprise? |

ahahahahahah this looks terrible. Such cheap, disappointing, wastes of plastic. The main line 3'75'' and "Legends" is no better.
Stick to Hot Toys thank you very much. I'll pay 20 times the price, but get 20 times the collectable. |

As long as the heads pop off for swaps with MU, I'll buy Ultimate Thor, maskless Cap...maybe Hawkeye (as a generic SHIELD guy) and Black Widow.
My local area has dnone of this yet- what was the "street date" supposed to be on these? |

Hmm..I think they's be too big for either of those.
The ML Hulkbuster fig (which I SO want!) was not that big...and a comic Iron Monger would be smaller than the Hulkbuster. But if you're making your own upgrade, I say go wild! You could get a Heroclix sentinel head, stick it on there, repaint it purple and make a badass Sentinel...maybe even that Detroit steel bozo from thye current IM comics. Ohhh...maybe a Titianium Man update! That would look great in metallic green! |

Yeah..that could work..
Part of me wants to get one of the big mech suits and load it down with a Cobra rattler's entire missile compliment and like Kotobukia gatling guns- go for an armegeddon armor! Or paint the thing silver and stick a MU Ultron head on it! |

Only thing here that I have any real interest in atm is the Hawkeye figure, and even then I want to get a look at him in-person before seriously considering getting him. I have to admit, the lack of a mid-torso joint is a plus for me (Hasbro sucks at that particular articulation), but the crossbow is definitely a negative for the figure, imho (I can't consider him an archer with that thing).
Though I'd be much more interested in the 6" scaled figures on the way, so hopefully the Movie Legends Hawkeye they've got on the way isn't too hard to find. I also wouldn't mind seeing this "Ultimate Hakweye" made in that scale. While part of me was expecting this, another part of me can't help but be disappointed at the lack of any role-play bow. Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and Hulk are all getting their usual role-play items, so I see no reason Hawkeye shouldn't get something. They've made at least one Nerf bow in the past, so something along those lines wouldn't be out of the question. Hopefully if he ever gets his own movie, we'll finally see something made.

Lol, I don't know if any of you guys are into Nerf guns, but the new Captain America gun for preorder in the TRU link is totally a Nerf Maverick with a very slight remolding and total recoloring. Sad.

I honestly hadn't noticed Hawkeye's odd knee and elbow articulation. While I'm still glad they got rid of the horrible mid-torso joint, normal bends at the elbows and knees would have been fine. As far as I'm concerned that's enough articulation there for an action figure, let alone this small of a scale. I'll be waiting on some reviews...
Oddly enough,t he fact it's a Maverick retool/repaint is why I kinda like it. It's familiar, yet has some new touches to it too. If I can get it on-sale for a good price I'll get it. Still, I would have loved to have seen something Hawkeye related among their role-play items.

I am pretty excited about Ultimate Hawkeye and Ultimate Thor. Other than those two though, I'm still pretty much just "meh" on these. Looks like there will be a lot of Cap and Iron Man repaints.

Part of me wonders if this is just a hint of the line, since it's mostly lazy re-releases with bad articulation and nothing new from the movie at all. Perhaps there's a bigger segment to the line featuring the mysterious bad guys and other comic figures launching near the movie? Uh, no. It's absolutely better. Factually, thanks to better articulation, sculpts, and more variety. You might not like it, but don't pretend that the quality of the figures are the same as this. It's simply false. |

Exactly. I'm pretty disappointed in Hasbro and I defend them pretty often against the hyperbole of some of the collectors (i.e. "Why are there silly-looking accessories in these products that I buy that are geared toward children!?") but this was a very lazy job on Hasbro's part. Yikes.
