Simple, who made the better Batman in any of the movies? I ask that you do not take into consideration on how good or bad the movie was.

Michael Keaton

Val Kilmer

George Clooney

Christian Bale

I think Christian Bale is great as Bruce Wayne, but I like Keaton as Batman the best.

Take a few minutes to watch this hilarious video of Batman meeting the Riddler. lol

Michael Keaton all the way.
My second choice would be Kilmer. Batman Forever sucked hard but I still thought his portrayal was interesting.

That picture of Kilmer-Bats doesn't look intimidating at all. Clooney-Bats looks like he's modeling (bat-nipples!). The other two at least look scary.

My vote goes to. . .Kevin Conroy!!

Because he wasn't in a motion picture. Just the series from what I know. Correct me if I am wrong.

^ Then Kevin Conroy should be included as well. Batman Mask of the Phantasm was released in theaters. :P And I know they did make a Batman movie withe the entire cast of the old show, I just don't know if it was a theatrical release or not.

Honestly, none of them do it for me. If I had to choose between those four, I would go with Bale...

Keaton > Bale > West

I'm pretty sure Adam West did the voice over in a Batman / Scooby Doo crossover I used to watch as a kid. Does that count?

Oh, but he was:

Batman (1966) - IMDb

It was released theatrically on July 30, 1966.

IMO, the order would be Keaton > Bale > West > Kilmer > Clooney going only by live-action portrayals. If we include animated/VO work, then Kevin Conroy would be just in front of West.

Probably very close between Bale and Keaton for me.

Kilmer and Clooney didn't get fair chances... those were some of the worst made movies, of any genre, that were ever made. I actually think Kilmer could've been a great Bruce Wayne if the movie itself wasn't such garbage.

He did. West's Batman had a movie. In fact, it's supossedly considered in chronological order as THE first Batman, with Keaton's as 2 and 3.

My vote goes for Kevin Conroy. He really defines Batman.

For live action, Bale comes first. I thought Clooney made for a pretty good Bruce, though. But I really can't stand any movie that came before Batman Begins (Aside from Mask of the Phantasm).

Christian Bale by far. Portrays perfectly the "Dark Knight". Val Kilmer was pretty good and Michael Keaton was decent at best. George Clooney was terrible and too comical for me. Adam West was good for back in the day as a cartoon character but no where near as cool of a character as Batman SHOULD be.

Adam Baldwin did ahell of a job in that Justice League movie with the Crime Syndicate.
Really, very pissed off sounding.

I second this! Exactly the order I would rank them.
