Got bored this evening and pulled out the old mini series Avengers vs. Xmen. As we already know they are puttng out two packs{She Hulk/Wolverine and Captain America/Magneto}. Well there are 4 issues in this mini series. It features the Avengers{Cap,Thor,Black Knight,Cap. Marvel{Photon},Doctor Druid, and She Hulk}, The Xmen{Storm, Wolverine,Havok, Magneto, Rogue, and Dazzler} as well as the Soviet Super Soldiers{Vanguard, Darkstar, Ursa Major, Crimson Dynamo, and Titanium Man}.
It got me to thinking. They showed a Black Knight and bearded Thor last year as prototypes. This year as for MU, they seem to be all about comic and team pack. So since there are two more issues in the mini series, it makes one wonder will those two figures find their way into comic packs and if so..who will be in there with them? I'm sure repacks like Crimson Dynamo, Titanium Man, Storm{mohawk version}, or even Havok. Still an interesting train of thought or at least IMO it is? What do you guys think?

To be far, I don't really know who those two are and they probably figured most people didn't either.

Decepticon Mark, these are interesting ideas. Ideas that I really like and I'm wondering if you may be right on this. I doubt it but it's fun to hope. I like all of your suggestions and would personally love to see more Marvel Soviet figures. (Vanguard!)

Then don't complain when they put out another Spider-man, Iron Man, Wolverine, and Captain America.

Deception Mark - I think you have a good idea. But I doubt Hasbro will do it.

Yeah I saw a magneto vs captain america 2 pack on ebay ending this Sunday. It started at 22.50 and is now going for about 31 bucks with 7.50 shipping. the shipping price is reasonable but I will wait a bit and hope I'll get lucky. I would love to see a Dazzler and Darkstar 2 pack. I would love the black Knight and Rogue.

Then what you'll actually get is Black Knight and Wolverine, and Dazzler and Wolverine. And maybe a Wolverine and Wolverine 2-pack for good measure.

and then when Marvel does a Wolverine Corps comic, we can have a Wolverine Corps team pack with Brown Suit, Old Man Logan, Tiger stripe and non-poseable 'Lil Logan!

I have the feeling that we probably wont be seeing anymore 80's AvX comic packs as they seem to be following the X-men First Class (TRU) and Captain America(Target) store exclusive two-packs pattern of giving each store (TRU and Target?) something that is currently relevant to the market like Amazing Spiderman being out and the big comic event (which packs are even kinda wonky like the X-men First Class where they fit the theme but all wrong while still being comic accurate for fans to appreciate). I think this is a shame as I loved the Secret Wars themed packs and wish they would get on to a different theme than Greatest Battles already. Personally I want some Marvel Couples comic two packs.

But if they were going to make two more packs to do the other two issues and following their example of doing re-paints and/or kit bashes I personally could see them doing us a favor like the new hulk/wolverine pack and doing:

1. Bearded Thor (which would hopefully be out by 2013 anyways) and Punk Storm (Re-painted with her accessories white) because who doesn't want a Thor vs Storm two pack! and then do us another goodie and make the last one a SovietSuperSoilder pack with...
2. Crimson Dynamo and Vanguard (who could be easily created out of current parts...I've seen many a simple custom for him. Think mid-sized body with old Winter Soilder head and Dr. Dooms cape. They most certainly have hammer accessories. I'm not sure about a sickle)

I would love to see a Dazzler, Darkstar, Captain Marvel (Photon), Gremlin, or Dr. Druid but they would be characters I don't think Hasbro could do just using re-paints and current parts to mix-in match. They would all at the least need new head sculpts.

You speak much truth in this post. Unfortunately, you're probably right on the Dazzler, Darkstar, etc. characters. I can't and won't speak for every collector but I would hope a lot of us would want some of those "forgotten" characters. I certainly do and I know it's weird but Vanguard is one of my most wanted characters. They'll probably never make him though.

Yes, I know, Mr. Data- I was attempting for humor.

There's an interesting Comic Book Legends revealed about that series- originally it had Magneto going back to villiany at the end, but Marvel Editorial changed it and so the series ends in kind of a fizzle.

My friend Hasbro does that , lets see hmmm Phoenix Jean Grey for example repainted to become Psylocke and mix match accesories to become Black Widow.

If they were to ever do the new Storyline, I have a good feeling you'll get Magik vs Black Widow and Colossus vs. Juggernaut or Psylocke vs. Daredevil like the actual matches.

As for the old ones, I do hope we get an Australian X-Men team, (Storm, Rogue, Dazzler, Wolverine, Colossus, Betsy Psylocke etc.). Photon would be good actually!

Let's be serious, it's Hasbro. We'd get:
Captain America vs Cyclops
Thor vs Emma Frost
Iron Man vs Magneto
Wolverine vs Wolverine - not a typo
