I also noticed the different release date in the original story, which caused me to raise an eyebrow or two, especially when I got a notification from BBTS saying that my pre-order had arrived in stock. However, I believe your initial suspicions might be right Joe, and think this is either a second printing, or a variant of the figure altogether. After watching several reviews (which I'll confirm once my own Predator arrives in a day or so) the one currently available comes with a whole different set of accessories, namely the medical kit and it's tools, and the extended whip. The current Predator available also does not have any land mines on his bandolier, features no disc weapons (either opened or closed) and only comes with one laser blaster, which I believe is non removable. The Predator featured in this update appears to be a full priced variant slated for a later release date, which comes with different weapons and accessories, (which is a bummer, because I do like this one's accessories a bit more, and after seeing this one, makes the other Predator released seem a bit incomplete.) Hopefully these accessories will be workable on both figures, and available separately from Monster Arts at some point, although I realize that's probably pretty doubtful considering that's not the M.O. of how Japanese toys tend to be. |

I believe this is a Tamashii Exclusive version of the wolf predator. It has a different set of weapons/aresenal.

I was going to order this fig until I actually saw the slopping work they did to. the pics they have for it look nothing like the product you will receive. the neca molds are a 100x better and the only thing this figure has on neca's version is the articulation...

I'm hoping they'll redo Wolf with the current Predator articulation.

I agree with you Langrisser. My own Monster Arts Predator arrived yesterday, and I can honestly say it's far better than anything that NECA puts out, and that's coming from someone who has invested more money into NECA's toy lines than any other over the past two years. The wolf predator has long been my favorite movie design from any of the films, and this one captures him perfectly, even better than the one NECA put out several years ago (all of which I own.) The poseability and scale is great (he works PERFECTLY with marvel legends figs,) the sculpt is awesome and the accessories are top notch, even though the one I have is not the heavy armored one featured in this thread. The main thing I love about it though, is the craftsmanship that you get with Japanese toys that you just don't with the domestic stuff. Meaning, it's nice knowing that when I move a joint to pose the figure, if it snaps off, it was because it was intended to, not because NECA sloshed on too much paint, or the plastic used on the toy was just cheap. That's not to say that I think ill of NECA's Predator line, because I don't. I have nearly every one they have put out thus far. Honestly though, the only thing that they have over the Monster Arts one is their Predator variety and price point. After that, the monster arts has them beat in spades. |

I'm not happy with my wolf predator
-loose right leg -removing/putting on head is a pain in the ass -removing the armor shows dozens of holes -there are no peg holes on the feet yet there everywhere else -no stand -the mouth pieces keep falling out, should have made the whole mouth a separate piece. - missing a blade on his right arm. cant find it now cause i didn't know it was missing. |

Have you checked with where you purchased about getting a possible exchange? If the blade was missing from the packaging, that might be a good enough reason for at least an even exchange. I hope it works out for you! |
