I'm in the camp that thinks the 1st release should have had this color (the color of the re-release). I think the dark color of the 1st-release toy matches the film model mainly because so much of the film was low-lit, making the vehicle appear black or otherwise extremely dark.

This version, at least from the promo pics, also seems to have dialed back some of the extreme mud spatter from the 1st release.

These are the main improvements I wanted from the 1st release, which I was close to buying a number of times, but never did. Glad I held off.

It's funny because I've messaged Hiya before about whether they would ever re-release it in this green and without the mud spatter, and they avoided giving me a clear answer.

Well that's more or less what you're paying for. A super low production run item that not many people want.
