What We Want From the Black Panther Movie - IGN
An interesting take that reflects much of what we've been discussing. I really hope this movie is a for sure thing. Do you guys really think it's the actor? I think it's a combination of both the script and actor... |

I think its the script, actor and almost always the director.
George Clooney is considered a good actor, but he made a terrible Batman due to a terrible script and a poorly conceived vision by the director. I have liked certain movies from Nic Cage like "The Rock", "Con Air", "Face off" and "gone in 60 seconds"...but I think he is a terrible Johnny Blaze, I don't care what script he gets. He may be a fan of the character, but that doesn't mean he's the right guy to play him. I really didn't like Ben Affleck as Daredevil. Symbiote bought the director's cut because people on here were talking about how good it was, but we both still thought it sucked afterward, lol. Just not fans of Ben Affleck's portrayal of him. So I guess it also comes down to matter of preference from fans at times, but there's just no arguing some actors nail the character. You'd be hard pressed to find someone say RDJ isn't the quintessential Tony Stark or Christopher Reeves the definitive Superman in film to name a few.

Nothing some CGI magic won't fix, or did you think Chris Evans' Cap was really him jumping off an exploding bus and flipping to a perfect landing in Avengers, lol. With good fight choreography I think a bulky actor could work and special effects magic could keep him looking agile.
I get that its my own perception that's flawed. I look at Hagler and Tyson in their prime and think Hagler would be the agile one, but WOW Tyson was quick. But thats the way I look at Panther, Hagler jacked, not Tyson jacked. |

Michael Jai White gets my vote, and not because he's the allspice guy, but because he already played a superhero in a movie when he was spawn! I loved his portrayal in that, also him as a bad guy in exit wounds. I think he would make a good black panther although he did say he wanted to be luke cage, but the odds of him being made is slim, Blank Panther is at least a well Known Avenger and can Tie in with an Avengers 2 or 3 movie. I personally would like to see 2 movies made. Giantman and wasp, as 1 movie as they are a love story, and 2 vital roles/cast members to the Avengers. Also BlackPanther/Hawkeye as they're both vital members and outsiders so some more backstory would be nice for everybody also non comicbook fans to help tie avengers all together. hell a well done Nick Fury Movie with Samuel Jackson would be decent too. I know they're making IM3, Thor 2, and Cap 2, which should lead to A2, but the question is what else will they do? Hulk revamp? BlackWidow Movie? lots of ideas for Marvel Studios to make the question is how much do you want to capture the mass market, keep putting out gems and people will pay.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje
Edit** Looks like he's down for the role as well. Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje Still Campaigning For Black Panther MJW isn't all the great of an actor to be honest.. |

I agree he's no oscar winner, but he has the size, physic, voice and face to work on screen, and given the supporting cast in avengers if he ever did make it wouldn't get more then 5-10 minutes probably.

and if BP makes it to A2 i hope he'd get more screen time than that, but then again thats about how much time hawkeye got, like 10-15 minutes. |
