So, it's a Biker Scout with a harness and a magic wand?

Yeah, the weapon is one of those things seen in the new trilogy where troopers can try to stand their ground with Jedi / lightsabers. Apparently that tech was around the whole time in OT we just didn't see it. |

Jeebus. Half of the effin’ releases are lameatop exclusives....might as well make the whole goddamned series gamestop exclusives, never saw revan and only seen that dumb brick red battle droids. Plus gamestop shit is is generally 3-6 bucks more than regular retail.

				 | Quote: Yeah, these are generally $25/each. And you have to get two to get free shipping. But they sometimes go on sale for $20/each. There have, I believe, only been seven Gamestop Gaming Greats figures so far, including this one (Battle Droid, Darth Revan, Jango Fett, Purge Trooper, Shadow Stormtrooper, Stormtrooper Commander, and now Scout Trooper). I know you're exaggerating, but this barely constitutes a single wave of figures. They're pretty much all repaints with minimal new parts. And they're all from video games. I don't like Gamestop, but these figures would probably not otherwise be made, so I'm okay with this. I have yet to see the others in the wild.

Well the original Darth Revan sold through extremely fast and was one of the line's most scalped figures to the point that Hasbro had to explicitly address it by doing online restocks, so it's not a stretch to imagine Jedi Revan probably would've moved well as a non-exclusive.

Scarcity was certainly a factor, plus he was the fan poll winner so I'm sure there were people picking the figure up just because they assumed it had more value.

Grievous' magna guards/droid bodyguards used electro-staves to fight jedi as early as the Clone Wars cartoon, maybe Revenge of the Sith. Can't recall if they actually lasted long enough to use the weapons in the movie though.

You are right, the Grievous guards did have electro staffs that did similar things. I'm just poking fun at how they retrofit new ideas into lore. Really, in OT there was no scenario where Luke was battling with a saber other than with Vader - minus the Jabba palace situation I guess. And as Jedi became less common, no need to have everyone equipped with it I suppose.

I'm actually surprised Gamestop is still hanging in there... I mean they keep closing like hundred stores every few months, but they are still alive and kicking... well, alive enough to keep getting exclusives anyway.
