Would LOVE movie Venom to look like this... sadly, with Marvel not involved with the movie, he'll probably look like a Power Ranger.

One of the things that's most interesting about DST is that the typically hire freelance sculptors to do some of their work. They actually rarely seem to sculpt much in-house. Gentle Giant does many of their figures, while statues and even some specific action figures, are contracted out.

Nice sculpt. Except for the buttocks.

Every other part of the body has the symbiote form-fit to the max, yet the cheeks are strangely... covered?... diaperized?

Let's just say when you get a better "crack" out of flexing trapezius than your glutes... there's an issue. It's odd.

I'm not sure who sculpted this in particular but, I believe these statues are art directed by Clayburn Moore, who did a lot of stuff in the 90s and is an absolute beast when it comes to anatomy.

Anyway, yeah this looks really good. It seems to me that they're trying (successfully) to channel the old Horizon model kit Venom...which IMO is probably the best sculpted Venom out there.

It’s comics magic. Same reason you can see Rogue’s bellybutton in perfect detail, but nipples are missing... or sabretooth’s leather jumpsuit is so tight you can see veins in his neck, but he’s got no package...

But really, is it really such a big deal? Do we really wanna see Venom jr flopping about?
