Street Date: Officially 2021-11-10
MSRP: $20
Price I Paid: $20
Scale: 7-inch (or 1/10)

I saw this once at a local Target store a few months back. Since then, it seems like Amazon has been the only place that consistently has him in stock.

McFarlane Toys is releasing a Bloody variant later this year (officially 2022-03-30).

----------

Initially, I didn't want to review this figure because the left arm was broken right out of the box. However, I changed my mind since I could still pose it and give you a general sense of what the articulation is like.

Like other Mortal Kombat figures from McFarlane Toys, this one comes in a slightly smaller box than the DC Multiverse figures. The figure, the knife, and the cane are simply wedged into the plastic tray (no plastic ties or tape). You also get a base stand. Mortal Kombat Joker stands about 7.1-inches tall.

The face is creepy in an unexpected way. It looks much more realistic than any of the other Joker figures so far.

Unlike The Clown Joker, you can't really remove the suit jacket as it's glued to the upper torso. The suit's shoulders hamper the arms' articulation a little. The head and upper torso can rotate 360 degrees. The lower torso probably could, but this figure has very tight joints. I think the plastic and rubber used for the pieces also lack moisture, to the point where it feels like any movement could result in additional breakage.

I like both the knife and the cane, but the cane is wide enough and the hand grips narrow enough that I didn't want to bother with forcing it into his fingers.

Areas of concern:
-- Overall, the plastic and rubber parts all seem brittle or too dry. The figure looks nice but probably won't withstand much play.
-- It might be worth waiting for the Bloody variant to see if better quality materials are used.

Even though McFarlane re-used many parts for the various Jokers that've been released, it looks like Mortal Kombat Joker is almost entirely unique (save for perhaps hidden pieces and the wrist/ankle joints). I think this Joker should've been the basis for the Death of the Family Joker since the flower would be on the correct (left) side, and it'd be smaller than the flower from The Clown Joker.
