For the price I'm going to be paying I really HOPE it's a sturdier type of Plastic. Same here, I figured Revoltech would have done Robo before Figma did.
Maybe this is the start of Figma expanding it's base?
Because I'd really love to get me an ED-209 And RoboCain figures in the same scale.
Question?
Why do you think they didn't included a Mask less head for this figure instead of a Battle Damaged Helmet? Do they just not have the likeness rights to Peter Weller?
Be careful with it and it shouldn't break. After I had the initial break on that one Figma, I treat them nicer now. Important: Do not force the articulation. Sometimes Figmas feel like they can really push the articulation and do some crazy poses. Well yes and no. Sometimes they can, but then you find you out you just force it too much and part of the plastic gets scratched against the harder plastic.

I don't know if Figma is really expanding their base, but if they are, that's cool. I'm sure we'll see a Revoltech version at some point though. As for why they didn't do an unmasked face, it's probably due to sculpting. You'd need a realistic looking face, not an anime face, something Figmas haven't really tried too much in the past. Revoltech's Sci-Fi line, however, would be able to pull it off. That being said, I have no idea how likeness rights work, so that may have played a part.

Well, I think getting some TF: DotM toys are out for a while. If this company ends up making more characters from the movie, I think I may be in.

Figma made Transformers toys?

Anyway, I'm really hoping we see Figma make RoboCain & ED-209 next. (in the same scale of course.

No, not at all. What I mean is that since I primarily collect TFs, DotM toys are out, but I'm not all over 'em like some are. The money I'd be using for those is going towards other things.

Totally agree with you on the other characters. Clarence and gang would rock, as would a Lewis, and the reject Robo 2s.

I think it just ''looks'' like that because Robo's Hips are extended outward to better give Articulation to the legs.

This is how he normaly would look...

And this is how the figure looks...

nope it's undersized for sure and your comparison shot helps display that !
right dimensions but undersized making his head seem larger and to a lesser extent his arms

Think this was done deliberately?
I find it hard to believe that as detail obsessed as they are they would overlook that size difference.

well honestly I don't know how it works designing for a company like this but maybe the fine detail and basic body are done separately because its not just the chest an face but also the lower legs an thin feet too BUT really this just doesn't have the top heavy bulk it should and for all that awesome detail its a shame the basics are missed.
the McFarlane is still a better shape but jeeeez is this one painted nice and the leg oh man

Think they will correct it before the release?
Or think they'll wait for the inevitable 2.0 release with swappable realistic Alex Murphy head?
BTW I'm not to bothered by the slimmer body, I'd like to think that is how Robo would look like on screen today if they were to succeed with a remake.

I shudder even thinking about a Robo-remake.
