Yes, the Back Hole, the wonderful little hole

No...Not that hole. get your mind out of the gutter.

I'm talking about the BACK Hole. Ever see a GIjoe in person? or the Captain America figure series?

THAT Back Hole

I love the Back Hole, its a wonderfull little thing allows figures to gain extra features. and I want the Back Hole for 2012 and on.
With the Back Hole, our heroes can wear Backpacks, or other accessories on their backs, for more functionality. Captain Americas shield fits snugly into his back now. yay.

But what other uses could the back hole provide to our dear marvel figures?
Suddenly Shield Agents and Hydra Agents get Jet Packs. Suddenly Punisher can carry a Ammo Case while he weilds a crazy Gatling gun. Suddenly Human Torch can have a cool flame effect coming from his back.
Then theres the Marvel Legends Showdown stands. A Hole in the Back suddenly allows for more movement features.

Theres other things the Back Hole could provide, I'm sure you'll let your imagination thrive. Do you want a back hole?

I voted no because then they'd have to produce accessories which Hasbro isnt going to do. Also, if there is no backpack on the figure and nothing to put on his back, then all you see is a black circle on the figures back in pictures.

ok. so you hate puppies. lol

jk

actually a slight change of opinion on the back hole, it works better for some characters than others. while I think about it, Daredevil wouldnt benefit from anything
But like I used before, the Punisher would hugely benefit.

I think they would need more characters to benefit from it. Sounds like the only one would be Punisher. And all they really have to do is repack a bunch of the Joes stuff.

I prefer the shield straps on Captain America, but they're few and far between.

I think it's more of a figure by figure basis thing. There's a lot of figures where a backpack would be pointless, and from what I can see looking at my collection, most of the ones that need something on their back have some sort of holder already.

But yes. Punisher needs a cool backpack/ammo case. I'd just requisition a G.I. Joe one and some glue myself.

Also, I hate pup.... hate pupp... hate... ARG, I CAN'T SAY IT! I WUV PUPPIES.

I have to say that the option of allowing figures to carry a pack or other gear on the back is awsome. I truly love the idea and was glad to see in on the Cap American figures. It was one of the best additions to the 25th Joes (now they all need better wrists- we are getting ther but slowly... the same could be said for the new MU figures... leaps better but not perfect.)

I really enjoyed the old days of rocket packs and accessories on the GI Joes. I agree with Omega that some heroes would benefit 0 from it, but I think if the accessory properly fits the character, that it would be a very cool feature. Nick Fury is one that would easily welcome a jetpack, as well as all kinds of other snap-ons to his back. Iron Man suits would be amazin with removable parts that weren't cheesy. But this is beyond the black hole on the back.

It'd simply be a matter of who the character was and what they would use. I'd vote yes in some cases, but no in ones where it'd cause them to come with ridiculous lasers or back packs that does not suit them in any way.

Hmmm, yeah, I think it would depend on the character. As mentioned, characters like Punisher would benefit from it. The Shield soldiers, Hydra troopers would as well. But I honestly can't think of too many characters that this would really apply to. I mean, really, how many superheroes need backpacks?

I can't remember now, but does the exclusive Nick Fury figure have a hole in his back? He comes with a jet pack, right?

Nick Fury did come with a jet pack. However, it's not removable, and attached to a set of shoulder straps. He'd definitely be another good choice for a back hole peg. And I forgot about the Hydra, AIM, and Shield soldiers. Them too.

it is removable. you just gotta pop off his head and unhook the strap from the jetpack. I actually popped off his head and the jetpack and put them on another Shield Agent, while I secured his body in a safe place. same body pretty much, but this way the joints dont become loose and preserve it while still displaying my fury

Ah yes......the back hole, we love back hole. We could put accessories from other toylines on any figure as long as they have a back hole. We also liked that if a character had a staff or knife we could put that staff or knife in the back hole to make it look like they were being hit in the back with it.

The back hole also allows for having a peg-based flight stand, if Hasbro would think about that.

Oh I LOVED that Symbiote! Putting a knife or sword of some sort in the hole in their back. It was very predictable where they would get stabbed.. my variety lacked because of it.. but it was awesome! That brings back those memories so much..

I'm not desperate for this feature, but I could see it being useful and not too damaging to the esthetic of the figure. So I voted yes (and blathered on my opinion too).

The flight stands issue is a very good point. That would be most useful!!!!

I love it because it allows me to give my troops a larger variety of weapons. I didn't get the Nick Fury and I really want a SHIELD Agent with a jetpack. Could also pass out all the weapons that came with Shadow Tracker from Pursuit of Cobra.

I love it and hate it, I love how it can be the reason a shitty comes with a cool accessory,backpack/gun etc,but if you're not using the accessory to fill the black hole then it doesn't look right, it's like captain america just took a gun shot and kept on running. I think some figures that are known for carrying mass weapons could benifit from it such as Punisher, blade, domino, deadpool. However *heads out of the gutter, I'd like to see Hasbro give other holes to Marvel characters such as a hole in Ironman's reactor for a blast beem to snap on, same with reactor blasts to clip onto his hands, feet, and eyes, same with war machine, cyclops, rougue, storm, how awesome would a jean grey be with a phoenix clipped onto the back though, she's the 1 that truely deserves it!

This thread was a complete letdown.

not one pic to satisfy my curiosity.

But to contribute, I don't mind the back hole as long as it gets filled properly. I don't like gapes exposed on my figures when they're displayed.
