Hi,

I'm not a toy collector, but a friend inquired about this 2010 Mattel Retro Action DC Superheroes, The Flash with incorrect packaging.

Is this a common error? And if not, what can he expect in terms of pricing?

Thank you,
Madmacs

Well, packaging errors rarely have any value above the normal toy. In some situations, it may have a lower value, as an MiB collector may would prefer the forrect packaging.

Factory packaging errors, when it comes to collectors and second hand value are a very niche market. More often than not, most of us would like to see it as it's something odd, but most people generally don't consider it worth any more than the normal toy.

If your buddy can find the collector that'll pay top dollar for it, more power to him. But those types are the exception, not the rule.

Early Star Wars has given a lot of people the wrong idea about toy collecting. In general, they make very poor investments. Few, and rare are the modern toys that command top dollar. And the ones that have instant returns usually don't keep that value, and are usually very hard to find (You *really* have to know what to look for).

Good answer. In other words, your friend (you) didn't hit the jackpot and can't sell it on eBay for $10,000.

A. It's an answer.

B. My friend - is my friend. What a shock - cynicism on a fringe board.

C. He's not selling it. He sees all "collectors" sort of as the same group. As a baseball card collector, he figures I would know where to ask.

No name calling. Read the rules before you post. - Toyark Staff

Hey hey, woah!
No one is being cynical or rude! Name calling because you may not like the answer is *so* outta line it's not even funny.

I told you the truth. Packaging errors are exactly that. Errors that only really appeal to a very niche market, and thus don't carry any real value in normal circumstances.
Because Omega decided to confirm this for you is no reason to get pissed off and namecall.
Way to burn bridges with people who only wanted to help.

It's ok, I'll be a moron while you are stuck with a figure that noone wants. Oh sorry, I meant your friend.
This guy joined the forum even though he isnt a toy collector and his only two posts are about this super rare collectible item, why are we wasting our time on this thread?
