Hey, gang I need some advice/opinions.

I have a shelf dedicated for my BAFs and CnCs, and will be adding the DKR CnC Bat Signal to that shelf. I had an idea to have the signal beamed to an adjacent wall where I would then have a Batman shelf displayed under the signal.

So, sticking with DCUC style figures, what would be a great display for Batman and an essential rogues gallery.

I'd like some leads as to the most iconic versions of say, Penguin, Joker, Riddler, etc.

If I was to stay around 20 figures max, who should I get?

I'm thinking:

Batman (classic blue/gray/yellow)
Robin (Dick Grayson)
Joker
Penguin
Catwoman
Riddler
Mr.Freeze
Poison Ivy
Bane
ManBat
Clayface
Batgirl

Who else? Any ideas/oponipns would be greatly appreciated.

Add Two face and Harley Quinn also a Bat Mobile since its almost iconic as Batman is. How about Nightwing?

Those are great ideas, Thanks!

I just thought of Ras Al Gul and Killer Croc too. Those along with your suggestions should just about wrap the Batshelf up.

Which TwoFace and Nightwing should I get?

I seem to recal a pretty decent Killer Croc from around 2005-ish.

The trick now is to do it all for under say, $600.

the DCUC wave 3 nightwing is a great figure and if you get him then i think you should get the Tim drake robin.

the DCSH twoface or the 5 pack twoface is probably your best bet. the arkham city figures that mattel made are a little bigger than the standerd DCUC figures.

id sugest the DCD trinity or hush ra's al ghul. the arkham city ra's will be a little out of scale

you can easily get those figures all for under $600. But it depends on which verisons of some of those figures you plan on purchasing, the new croc and freeze will cut into that $600 pretty deep. as for all those choices and which ones you should get I think that comes down to personal preference, its going to be YOUR display shelf in YOUR room, I'd check out the DC Direct and DC Universe versions and decide which you like better, you might have some scale issues but I think for a batman themed shelf you shouldn't really worry about scale or articulation unless you plan on having them in bada$$ poses. don't forget black mask!

These are all the classics that should go in the Batman Collection. The 2 that can be left out are Deadshot and Killer Moth. But they are both still part of the Collection. Didn't mention Red Hood because he is not widely available but still an important character in the Batman Family.
DCUC - Killer Moth, Nightwing, Harley, Azrael, Killer Croc, Scarecrow, Deadshot, Gordon, Two Face. DCD - Mad Hatter, Scareface, Ras Al Ghul.

I don't have much to add considering a lot of dudes already said the right things... but definitely get some form of Azrael, and Azbats is a great figure.

Great looking shelf FancyPants! I appreciate all the feedback guys, thanks.

So I need a Batmobile, is there a 1:12 scale one available? I don't care if it's the '60s car or a newer one, but maybe not the Tumbler.

Didn't HotToys just show off a Batmobile? Was it the Keaton car? And was it 1:12

I just got my Reborn Dc Direct Azrael a few weeks ago, what a friggin sweet figure, it looks great with my other two DCUC Azrael's...and I just picked up the 2pack with gordon and the tiny bruce wayne in the prototype batsuit (BLAH! I only needed the Gordon) and the movie masters two face and joker....was holding off on those due to their size, but there are pretty cool looking anyway.

If sticking with DCUC-style figures, there's some issues that we all must face. . .

Catwoman -- DCSH all black, Gotham City 5 purple, or Arkham City 2pack? (I vote all black)
Robin -- wave 16 Grayson, wave 3 all red, or Dynamic Duo 2pack (my fave is the Dynamic Duo 2pack version)

Joker -- wave 10, Batman Legacy, or Mad Love 2pack? (I like them all. . .but vote wave 10)

Riddler -- wave 5 or wave 16?

Croc -- DCSH or the older 2003ish one? I actually like the older one, and it's cheaper.

Two-Face -- Gotham City 5 or DCSH?

Lots of choices, and some of those will really eat into that $600 budget.

Look at KenM's pictures -- that's a pretty definitive collection there.

I know others will disagree, but I'd also add the DC Direct Commissioner Gordon, Huntress, Alfred, Hush, and Ra's from the Hush series. Or maybe the Ra's from DC Direct Trinity instead. Unless you want to hold out hopes that Mattel will cover these versions of the characters.

And then there's the DC Direct Birds of Prey Oracle. . .

The only DCUC-scaled Batmobile I'm aware of was from 2003 by Mattel. You can fit DCUC figures in there, but the plastic capes make it very difficult. The BM was made for the 2003 Batman and Robin figures that had cloth capes. Here's a listing for one. It's a very modern-looking version of a Batmobile. I wouldn't call it "iconic."

The Hot Toys one is the 1989 movie version and is 1:6 scale.

Thanks ToyAddict, that's gonna have to be the one then. I most likely won't be seating any figures inside, just want it to balance the display.

Good ideas with Alfred and Gordon, looks like $600 might have been a bit optimistic.

I thonk I can bump the budget to $750 and still get it done by the end of the year.

Good idea. At this time last year I had about 35 DCUC figs, but sold them all except my Batman (Keaton style--black suit/yellow oval symbol) and Superman, and the few Batman villains I had. I intended to collecting just Batman characters, and have stuck to it.

I skimmed everyone's posts, so this might have been suggested, but.. Alfred should be involved. I know he's not a villain, but I think he's key.

I use (all DCUC/Legacy--no DCD statues)..
Keaton Batman
Arkham Asylum 2-pack Joker
Arkham Asylum Harley Q (fantastic figure)
Top Hat/Suit wearing Riddler (I prefer that look over the spandex suit)
DKR Bane (I want the C&C version too, but I really like this figure and am content with this Bane for now)
DKR Alfred "Micheal Caine" Pennyworth (not in hand yet, but DFD is hooking me up!)

I really want a DCUC Penguin, but others on my "to get Batman list" are..
Catwoman (not sure which version I want yet--probably Legacy 2-pack)
Commish "Gary Oldman" Gordon
Two-Face (not sure which version I want)

Some DCD are decent and don't really need to be articulated very much because they're being displayed with so many other awesome DCUC and Legacy figures. A good example is the new Arkham City Hush, but beware of his guns, the triggers will break off as soon as you try to put them in his hands, a very stupid and obvious design error that goes to show that the figure was rushed. The Arkham Asylum and Arkham City figures are hit or miss, you just have to do a little research. I would recommend Joker with Scarface for a definitive Joker figure, and the aforementioned Hush is great. I saw the AC Riddler in person recently and it looked awesome, so if you want the suited version I'd check that out but its articulation and stance are awful. As far as Robin, the Bane wave DCUC version is really cool, go with the classic version. Oh, and the new TDKR Alfred Pennyworth figure is awesome, they definitely made a quality figure of him so I'd pick it up if you can.

OV: I bought the AC single pack catwoman yesterday because of the hug difference from the two pack version. I like seeing here goggles up and see her eyes
