Which of these lines is most worth getting, after buying 1/100 HG Gundam Virtue I have decided to stick to the action figure lines and I was wondering about the main differences and ultimately which one I should focus on
p.s. I saw Fix Figuration Cross-Bone Gundam and he is amazing |

MSiA Extended get the Extended subname as they have much more extensive range of motion and much more articulation than MSiA. Both series are relatively cheap compared to HCMpro and Gundam FIX. Gundam FIX is the high end PVC line, actually all three lines are PVC, FIX is 1/144 scale. The later and recent releases have good range of motion, earlier releases were very hindered with regards to mobility. The highest end are 1/100 FIX Figuration Metal composite. These are in the $100+ range, but articulation and quality are excellent.
If you want something neat to fiddle with get EMSiA or the Robot Damashii line, which is the successor to EMSiA. If size and display matter more, get FIX Figuration. If size, display, and articulation matter most aside price, get the Metal Composite. |

Just like Shin said, Fix Fig are the best for display, and have superb detailings.
However, the best in my opinion is the EMSIA because they are well-detailed AND awesomely articulated. They certainly don't reach the detaling of Fix Fig(with production markings, switchable parts, etc), the details put into EMSIA make them the best bang for your buck. The metal composite are cool, but far too much money in my opinion. A quick question of my own, are all MSIA lumped into the EMSIA category now? Like MSIA is just EMSIA then Robot Damanshii is like the new EMSIA? I ask because it seems pointless to make figures with less articulation now and the newer figs all seem to represent the new articulation. I should be getting my Nadleeh fig tomorrow or so and I was interested at how articulated it would be. Last edited by scarecrow; 01-08-2009 at 09:01 PM.. |

From here on out I wouldn't expect more MSiA/EMSiA releases, as evidenced by the Gundam 00 Robot Damashii figure(the main character's suit from the 2nd season), an EMSiA/MSiA version isn't needed. |

Yeah I kind of wondered the same thing, wether or not we would see more MSIA. I have quite a few EMSIA and love them. I have a couple of the RX-78 repaints and they blow my old MSIA out of the water.. Don't get me started on my Hyaku Shiki... Pure perfection
I'm waiting to get the Seravee. I'm a big Tieria Erde fan. Although I love the Gundam 00 as well. |

Thanks so much guys, I think I'll go with the MSIA and Extended MSIA lines, any suggestions on who to get?
edit - The Robot Damashii line looks excellent and its the 00 Gundams but one question; does the 0-Raiser combine with 00 Gundam? Last edited by knook; 01-09-2009 at 06:36 PM.. |

I would guess it does since they made a point of making it seperate.. Seems like kind of a strange entry otherwise.
As far as EMSIA goes, any Rx-78 molded figure(my favorite being G-3, the gray one) is a superb figure to have. Also, Hyaku Shiki and the Zeta Gundam figures are great. Just awesome. MSIA, the newest figures are comparable to the EMSIA... Not quite as poseable but not a problem. The Providence Gundam is an awesome MSIA figure, and I'm sure any 00 figures would be great. Like I said, I'm waiting on the Nadleeh to get to my house, so hopefully I can tell you how that one is once I get it. Glad we could help. Let me know when you get stuff! I love hearing about Gundam news all the time. |

I'm a little late to the discussion but have you also considered the High Complete Model Progressive (more commonly known as HCM Pro) line?
They're smaller than the EMSIA line but tend to be a bit sharper looking thanks to the use of ABS plastic instead of PVC. If you're considering to get any Gundam mobile suit that features wings, you may not like the PVC plastic that makes them look thick and sometimes warped. Also whereas EMSIA is not made to any exact scale size, HCM Pros are made at 1/200 scale. 1/200 scale seems to be catching on lately so if you're planning on expanding beyond Gundam, maybe this is up you alley. Ofcourse the main negative of HCM Pros is that they are very small. My Gundam MK.II for example is about 4-inches tall head to toe. Don't get me wrong, EMSIAs are fantastic. If you're really into posing your Gundams, you can't go wrong with EMSIAs I just want to make sure you've considered the HCM Pro line as well. If you have any questions, I can help. Btw, the Robot Spirit/Damashii line is the successor to the EMSIA/MSIA line. From what I know, the main change will be the materials used to make the robots. Ie. there will be less use of PVC plastic - which hasn't been too popular with fans. Last edited by Vifam7; 01-09-2009 at 08:28 PM.. |

I was going to get a gold-chromed HCM figure a while ago but completely forgot about, thanks for being SO helpful guys
Right, most likely choosing a HCM figure (No experience before hand and the visual attributes do it for me) Which one is the best? I just heard that the HCM line has the "Model Plastic" does this mean they are hollow and is it the more modern plastic (00 Line) or the Older Plastic (Wing Line) Last edited by knook; 01-10-2009 at 07:01 AM.. |

HCM Pros may feel a little brittle due to its size and non-existent weight but they are quite sturdy (provided you don't do something stupid). ABS plastic is the main ingredient. It's a plastic type that's much stronger than the polystyrene (PS plastic) used in most model kits. And yes, it's the newer plastic type increasingly appearing in Bandai's latest kits.

The Destroy Gundam does look very cool, but I'll always like the Psycho Gundam a lot better.
I want the metal composite one. I had an opportunity to get the original MSIA in Los Angeles a long time ago but couldn't afford it. It was disappointing. |

There's also a giftset of the 0-Raiser and the 00 Gundam, both repainted to look like their Trans-Am modes. http://tamashii.jp/item/item.php?eid=01008 http://tamashii.jp/item/item.php?eid=01007 |

and thanks Sol, I found a few good images of the HCM 00-Raiser here This may sound stupid but one thing I love about scaled series is that they're all different heights and to me it just means they all look awesome when displayed next to each other (1/200 HCM) Last edited by knook; 01-11-2009 at 05:27 AM.. |

Robot Damashii is also doing that to a degree - the Code Geass Gawain is more or less the correct size compared to the rest of the Knightmares in that series, which means the guy is twice the size.

I like some of the sleeker designs(especially 00 series MS), but the old blocky, simplistic designs are really cool to me.
