So to make some space and extra cash I'm thinking about selling some of my MOTUC extras early next year.
Basically, I have at least 1 extra set of the whole series so far with online versions of the SDCCs, and weapon paks so should I sell it in lots Seperated by year, Indiviual figures, or the entire set as one humongus lot? |

You will get more money if you sell individually. Personally I would try to shave parts off the collection so you can at least keep He-Man and a couple others! PM me if your trying to sell a Shadow Weaver!

I'll be keeping 1 set for myself, for sure. I've been thinking about parting it out, but I dont want them sitting around forever. I kinda want them gone lol

Tough decision man. I guess you should really decide which is more important to you: getting the cash or clearing some space.
You will definitely get more money by selling them individually. Problem with that is, some figures may not sell. Selling them in lots will ensure that you clear out whatever you don't want anymore. When I decided to sell my Marvel Universe collection I knew I didn't want any figures lingering around, so I just sold them all in lots. Separating them out by year sounds like a great idea. Or maybe separate them in lots of 6 or so figures. Whatever you decide, good luck. |

Themed lots may help. Sell some of them together to make the group more appealing (which will hopefully make it sell faster). For example:
He-Man/Battle Cat Skeletor/Panthor Teela/Man-At-Arms King Hsss/<Any of the Snake-Men> ...you get the idea. It's faster than trying to sell everything piecemeal, but it also doesn't limit your buyer pool (only a certain level of collectors can afford to buy large collections in one shot). Be careful doing that with the rare/expensive items, though. While it will help the lot as a whole, you may not get as much per figure as you would selling those big-ticket items separately. Of course, if you're trading/selling to a fellow Arker, a fair price will always get your stuff sold. ![]()

This question comes up often. I have always been of the mind set that if you sell them individually you are more than likely to sell them all in time than you would selling all of them at once. The people that buy them are collectors too and want to fill in the gaps in their collection; not necessarily buy an entire collection at once.

You'd make more $ selling individually, but it'll take a lot more time and effort. I'd break them into lots and spread the more desirable stuff across the lots. I'm going through something similar with my Marvel Legends. I'd make more if I'd piece them out, but I don't want to deal with all the packages and numerous trips to The Post Office.

I've always had greater success in selling individual items as compared to lots. People who already own specific figures are less likely to bid on lots, because they don't want to pay extra money for things they already have.
The key to selling individual items is to not be greedy about it. Start your listings at a reasonable price, and let the buyers tell you what they are willing to pay. A perfect example of this is I just sold EVERY Garbage Pail Kid series released in the USA. I sold them by series, and started the listings at only one dollar. When it was all said and done, I walked away with close to four thousand bucks. You have to keep in mind that buyers are more inclined to bid high amounts if the initial asking price is fairly low. Not only that, but once they get into a bidding war for an item, they seem to take it personal that they have been outbid, and often times will bid more. So, again, let the buyers tell you what your item is worth, and you'll find mass success in your sales. Most importantly, don't be lazy. If you want the most money for your stuff, you have to work for it. That means taking the time to photograph everything, listing it all, and then making the numerous trips to the post office. It took me days to photograph all my cards, and hours to post them all, and then several days over a week period of making trips to and from the post office, but again - four grand. It was worth the time and effort.
