Ok guys thought I'd start a thread here that I started on Fwoosh. You gotta see this figure. Only time I've ever seen it.

From what I've heard this wolvie only got made in the beginning for a tester for Toybiz, it was at that point the factory was told it was the brown costume wolvie they wanted and not this one. Anyway do I believe the story? Who knows. But I've never seen this anywhere else. So enjoy guys. By the way this toy can be yours for the bargain price of $18K HK!!!

I have no idea, a friend sent the pic to me. I stopped asking questions right after the "it costs $18K part"

Most likely for that specific Wolverine + base (Series VI, 2004). And IIRC, Wolverine has never had a costume quite like that. The figure seems to be a mix of his brown and yellow costumes (which would also indicate it was made later in the course of the line, since his yellow costume version came out in Series III. Also, the retail version of his brown costume was masked and that head came from the chase version of the Series III release.

Still, pretty unique item. I wouldn't say it's worth $18K, though. Not to me, anyway.

True, or at least he hasn't shown it, but the price isn't justifyable, the number seems random, and there are a lot of fakes out there. There is a company that Solid uses to verify and make sure the items are legit, and then get it graded. As I can take a wolverine figure, crack the seal, paint him and put it back and ask crazy $$ too...

Actually this does exist. At least Toybiz had photos of this as a prototype, it's over on the same thread I started on Fwoosh.

I think the Psylocke, Luke Cage, and blue Wasp variant figures were just produced as salesman's samples, and then canceled. However, I heard rumors that a case or two were inadvertently shipped to a store.
