So, my daughter is a huge Wonder Woman fan. With her Birthday coming up I'm on the lookout for a figure for her display... I can't decide on what to go for as there's so much choice out there!

Any recommendations? What's your favourite figure? No particular scale in mind, I'm just curious to know the hits and avoids

yeah, ditto. I wouldn't put much stock into anyone other than Raf's answer to this since he owns practically every WW figure made...

i think i saw advertised here on the forum that barbie were doing a wonder woman themed thing... It varies i guess on her age, (we dont know) so not sure what is suitable , bare in mind some figures come with small pieces etc. Good recommendations above anyway.

Right now my two favorites are the Bombshells Wonder Woman and the Icons JL Rebirth 7 pack Wonder Woman. Both are made by DC Collectibles. I have a couple of others by DCC but these two are what I would recommend from them.

My other favorites are:
  • DCUC Super Powers Wonder Woman. I would recommend this version over the Series 4 version since the build quality is better and the colors are more vibrant. The S4 version has weapons though.
  • The original Kenner DC Super Powers Wonder Woman. There is a WW figure from Toybiz that looks very similar but isn't as good as the Kenner version. You can tell the difference by looking at the shoulder joints. The Kenner SP WW's shoulders are at an angle so when her arms are raised above her head, her wrists come together like on the old George Perez cover WW cover.
  • DC Direct Terry Dodson Wonder Woman. It's pricey but still a good figure.
  • Mafex Wonder Woman. There is a version coming out for the solo Wonder Woman movie which has caused the BvS version to go down in price.

As for figures to avoid, I would say to avoid most of the DC Direct WW figures unless you wanted a Golden Age Wonder Woman or something artist specific like Alex Ross or Terry Dodson. They're OK figures but I think you can do better.

Thanks guys...I appreciate the kind words!

@Unhinged1983...It's really going to come down to what kind of budget and how much time you have for this project. For example, some of the rare ones you won't find at any stores other than online so, they'll need to be shipped out to you.

Ok...so, in my opinion, this are the best all around figures out there right now in the 5 to 7 inch scale.

This first one is my favorite...DC Direct Wonder Woman Series one. She has the traditional outfit but she will set you back anywhere between $60 to $150 dollars online.

These next ones are a fans favorite...The one on the middle, is the rarest one of all the WW's out there (you probably won't find her, it took me three years to find one but, I still want to show it to you). However, the two on each side where made with the same body mold as the rare one except the face (that's what makes the middle one so rare, the face mold was never used again). The metallic one comes from a two pack called DC Origins from DC Direct and the matte one is from the Series 3, DC Direct, Justice League of America. Both range anywhere between $50 to $150 dollars.

These next three are the latest figures to come out with the new movie (non-traditional) costume. Left side is the DC Collectibles DC Icons Rebirth 7 pack. Loose she goes for $20 to $25 dollars. In the middle is the latest DC Multiverse ToysRus exclusive Movie figure and she goes for $19.99. The one on the right is another DC Collectibles DC Icons single card version and she goes for about $20 dollars too.

Now...if non of those figs convince you, then take a look at this next group pics. This is pretty much all that's out there in this scale. If you like one of these just ask and some of the guys here or I can tell you more about it.

I bought one of the 12 inch DC Multiverse WW figures and I really like it a lot. This is a hard plastic toy and the hair is sculpted on instead of rooted hair like a Barbie. She comes with lots of gear like a lasso of truth, godkiller sword and blast effects parts that can be plugged into small holes in her bracelets. There are two pieces that are curved so it looks like she's deflecting fire or an energy blast and there are 4 ricochet bullet effects. The only bad thing about this version is that she doesn't come with a shield. I assume that if she's seen the movie, your daughter would probably want to re-enact the charge across No Man's Land. Unfortunately, you can't with this figure because she doesn't have a shield. It's available at most retailers, but I've seen them most often at Target stores. They're $30 so it won't break the bank and I'm pretty happy with it overall. It looks good on a shelf and seems like it has good play value for kids.

Hey Raf, did you collect the Wonder Girls also? I agree on the DC Direct series 1 as my fav. The face is near (if not at) the top with a look that actually approaches Mediterranean. The fig's statuesque and the musculature is corded enough while maintaining a healthy degree of femininity and voluptuousness. Of course, I like the one I own (and the ones I have owned) DCUC series 4 (I sold my Second Son WW, Super/Batman Public Enemies WW, and Kingdom Come WW years ago). I may grab those Icon WW figs, they look to be taller than I expected...

As usual...NUTZ collection, man. All I can do is sit back and laugh!

Lol...thanks again my friend! Agreed, you described that WW perfectly. Yes, I do collect Wonder Girls and pretty much anything WW related in the female figure version like Donna Troy or Star Sapphire as WW. I even love the WW's that are supposed to be from another world or universe. There's an upcoming Wonder Girl that looks amazing! Here...I'll post more pics.

I really like the one in the white "toga" with the golden sandals as well. Absolutely gorgeous figure...

There's two Kingdom Come figs there but I assume you mean the DC Comics Unlimited WW? Here's a pic and you tell me.

Ahh, yes Isis (the one with the golden sandals)! Well, here's her story...She is not officially WW but I believe DC made her appear as if she was as there's too many coincidences. She is Black Adams girl. She exists at a time when WW was absent. She demonstrated numerous powers that manifested when the need arose to included flight, super speed and super strength (to a level comparable to Wonder Woman). The Egyptian goddess character has been depicted within the Wonder Woman comic book just to name a few things. That is one of my favorite figures for sure.

Raf, I thought the Kingdom Come WW was the one to the far left in that second pic? I think Triv means the fig with the large Victorian bun hairstyle...which I believe may be some sort of Apokoliptian Elseworlds fig, not sure. But yeah, the toga one is Isis WW, as you alluded to.

Edit: if Triv means the one I mentioned, I just looked, it's Amazonian WW.

True, that is the Kingdom Come WW. The other one I was referring too was the 6th one from left to right on that second pic. She is also Kingdom Come but she is in her Armored outfit that's why I was confused. In that case you're right...that's the beautiful DC Direct Elseworlds (Alex Ross) Amazonia WW!

Yeah, I see...my bust. I didn't notice the Armored Kingdom Come fig there...I understand now why you detailed the 52 version.

Well, at least we know it's got to be one of those two.

Yeah...I was referring to the DC Unlimited version. I never actually saw that figure in stores or even knew it existed for that matter, thanks to the haphazard way that line was distributed. That's a great looking dig, shame that I missed out.

Yeah...the Kingdom Come figure I was referring to was the WW figure that came in the golden eagle armor. I know nothing about that story, but I remember picking up that figure, along with Green Latern at a toy show about a year ago for my wife, since she is a big Alex Ross fan...

Thanks very much for all the effort and replies folks Sitting here drinking my morning coffee and comparing Wonder Woman figures, lol...

I have until August, but I like to be prepared... She's turning 9, but a strange 9 year old! She NEVER plays with her toys, it's been like that since she was 3-4! I remember buying her 1st wave Monster High dolls, she was over the moon with them... She took them out the box, admired them for about 10 minutes then sat them nicely on the table. She has a room full of toys she never plays with. So the Wonder Woman will certainly be for display too. That being the case, I don't mind seeking out one of the more expensive ones
