A Toyark poster 'openchallenge' posted in the below in the thread about the Superhero Showdown sets at TRU for Batman and Superman. Each set contains a JL/JLU animated figure. Superman seems like change in that he's not sporting the red trunks.

Maybe I'm not understanding this correctly. But does he mean there are new single carded JL/JLU figures being re-released at Kmart, but with different "striping" paint schemes?

I asked in that thread, but haven't gotten an answer. Anyone else see these at K-Mart? Or are these the Total Heroes figures?

Short of going out to an actual K-Mart and searching their toy isles I haven't been able to find anything. I think they might actually be talking about the Batman:The Brave and the Bold retools, but I thought those were Target exclusives, and I don't know of any connection to Bruce Timm... but they do fit what they mention of the new 52 styled paint jobs.

Would be interesting to see more modern repaints of the old JL/JLU figures outside of those big Superman and Batman sets, but I think if that was the case someone would have made a big deal of them. I also doubt Mattel would just have such a line come out of nowhere.

The K-Marts in this area still have an abundance of Captain America 2 figures for full price (I think these are the newest figures they have too) so I don't think I'd ever be able to find out, myself. I'd really like this to be true, though.

K-Mart is still in business? I thought they went out 2 years ago.

I went to a K-Mart to see if they had anything. Nothing related to JL/JLU. They had the Total Heroes Hawkman and Aquaman, though.

And I agree, I'd think they'd probably have made a re-release of JL/JLU figures a much bigger deal if it was happening. But stranger things have happened.

Anyone know forum member "openchallenge" & are able to ask him what he meant?

You asked them in the thread, so maybe try sending them a PM asking them directly. Couldn't hurt. Maybe also direct them to this thread so they can share with the class.
