WOW! The best animated Batman movie, if not animated DC in general, I think I've ever seen and I really liked Year One.

This is the first time I think I've seen an animated movie that stayed so true to the comic that I wasn't sure if I was watching the movie for the first time or not. This is a must own movie, IMO. The fights are so brutal, the feel of the comic is captured perfectly. I can't say enough good about this movie without ruining it for others unfamiliar with the stories.

5 out of 5 stars.

My only gripe is that Part 2 comes out Winter of next year.

I thought it was pretty good too actually. I've been meaning to read the books as well, but I thought they did a great job.

Dude if you want to read them in a much more affordable manner, make a comixology account and spend $4 bucks to get all four issues. There's a Dark Knight Returns $.99 per issue sale right now going for All Star Batman and Robin and The Dark Knight Strikes again as well.

Even for those of you who refuse to go digital, @ $.99 per issue that's a money saver and these read great on tablets and smart phones.
