@Dynomite - YES.THANK YOU.
I too grew tired of the endless comparisons. Yes, they are based off of comic book characters BUT (like you said) if you throw out that aspect of it, the Avengers is an ensemble/action-adventure/PG movie, TDKR is more crime drama/thriller/R movie. I finally saw Spidey with the Mrs. last weekend and guess what? We loved that too! That was action/romance/PG-13. But somehow they all get bundled together and you get an endless wave of TDKR was better than blah, blah or Spidey didn't do this like the Avengers did blah blah. Just enjoy a movie for what it is every once in a while, its own stand-alone entity

Yea, Spidey is next on my list. I like that you, very accurately, listed the genres of these movies. That has a lot to do with what a particular person thinks of a movie to be honest. I have 4 kids. It's not far fetched to think I'm gonna rate Avengers higher seeing as how I can enjoy that experience with my entire family. Lol, I feel like the worst parent ever just typing this but I had my 5 year old girl with me watching TDKR. By the time Bane snapped dudes neck on the football field she turned her head for the last time and went to sleep. I had to sit through hours of Lalaloopsy at home just to make it up to her. I remember giving parents the stank-eye that had toddlers with them watching Kick-Ass but here I am with a baby watching the fucking DARK Knight because it's a "comic book" movie. Lol, "comic book movie" is definately not a genre.

No my good sir. It is not! Though I don't have kids I am that one cousin in every family that exposes the younger cousins to true cinema (you know Scarface, the Hangover, Borat, and the like, LOL).

Lol, my 5 year old is my Mini Me even more than my 2 boys. She has seen a lot of stuff that she shouldn't have. I have started FORCING her to watch My Little Pony and other girls shows because I felt like I was seriously raising Hit-Girl. When Bane snapped the guy up and she got scared, for a second I had to look at her like she was going soft on me. Then I thought about the time she tried watching Batman Begins with me. Dude, when Scarecrow was high on his own supply cus of Bats, and they show scary Batman, that kid screamed bloody murder. She WILL NOT watch any TDK scene with Ledger. Lol it wasn't until yesterday I finally saw that these movies aren't for everybody and that Nolan is one sick, twisted, very talented bastard.

Definitely a reboot first. Nolan's Batman is too dark and "realistic" for characters like Superman, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter to exist. Of course, I'm not saying the JLA movie would have to be fun and campy, but there has to be some upbeat moments. I never laughed once during DKR.

The ending also makes a sequel that then leads into JLA problematic at best, but due to potential spoilers I won't comment here.

If anything, the upcoming Man of Steel film should plant the first seeds, much like the first Iron Man film did for Avengers. Then maybe the Flash movie and a Green Lantern sequel/reboot to help introduce the others (like Black Widow was introduced in IM2).

I would love to see a movie picking up where this left off but I just don't see them doing it. Would definitely be interesting. I do miss the days when studios didn't feel the need to reboot things that were less than 5 years old. Batman is kinda like James Bond though, you don't expect them to leave it be for long. Only reason there was such a gap between "Batman and Robin" and "Batman Begins" is how mind numbingly horrible the former was.

I'd really like them to at least give the blake story a small one shot comic series.. that might be a real long shot too though. Oh well.
