This, a million times over.

The more nostalgic fools demand references and products based on that shitty show, the harder it is for the comic medium and the character of The Batman to completely wipe away its stigma.

Matty Hot Wheels made quite a few 1960's Batman 1:18 scale Batmobiles & 1:12 scale Batcycles, but neither of these were especially good sellers.

I bought a Batcycle at clearance at a Matty Factory Store for around $12 and threw it in my JSA / Golden Age display:

Yeah, they could only do the vehicles and use the logos. Couldn't use the likenesses of the actors in any toys or merchandise. This new deal allows that.

Wow, looks like somebody's been playing too much Batman: Arkham City. The Dark Knight has his fun side too, and that show was really a joy to watch. Not everyone remembers it with disdain, in fact for people of a certain generation Adam West IS Batman--not the cough-growling Bale.

Haters gonna hate. If you don't like the old Batman, go ahead and pretend it didn't exist and leave those of us who love Adam West and Burt Ward at peace.

That show is ridiculous, but for kids who grew up watching it, that is what Batman is. Biff, bam, boom. Nananananana Batman. I think this is fabulous.

Batman, has so many different, accepted, incarnations. It is one of the few brands that can support this due to simply being around for so long. Batman is a very generational character and the portrayals evolve based on what is all the rage in that time period. The 60's Batman perfectly captures the whimsy of the newspaper comic strips they were attempting to emulate. It's zaniness has also secured it a place as a piece of pop culture that transcended the generation it was intended for.

There is a batman flavor for everyone. There's no need to wish ill of those that enjoy a particular version.

Agreed. Batman is my favorite character of all time. I love the Nolan movies and The Dark Knight Rises is the most anticipated movie of the year for me. But I watched this show in syndication growing up and I loved it. I love it now. My xbox gamertag is Cmdr Schmidtlap (Commodore Schmidtlapp), named after the ship captain in the 1965 Batman movie. Obscure, I know. I can't wait to buy the dvd's, finally!

And for the record: Burt Ward is still the best Robin we've ever had.

Honestly, I will probably collect these only if they are in scale with an existing 3.75" or 6" line.

A Caesar Romero Joker in the 6-inch scale would be awesome.

WRONG!!! If you grew up on this crap, I am sorry for you. This Batman series is an insult to our intellegiences because Bob Kane sold out to Fox and let them do whatever they hell they wanted.

Sure, there were comics of Batman that had a fun side. They did a great job of featuring that in The Brave and the Bold cartoon, but they were still far more intellectual than what the shit Adam West gave us. Hell, I don't remember Batman ever having a gut in the comics even during its goofy years.

And I am not basing my Batman off the Nolanverse and the Arkham games. I am basing off my Batman from the Denny O'Neil, Neal Adams, Dick Giordano, and Len Wein era in the 70s when Batman was brought back to being what he was supposed to be. And in case you did not realize this, that is the era that a lot of the Nolanverse and Batman the Animated Series were taken from.

The only way I will approve of this series coming out on DVD is if they change its title to Batfake, since that is what it is.

Doc Kain here said it better that I could have. I'm not some kid who came to Batman by way of Arkham City or even the Nolan films. I started reading in '88 and the Burton Batman film cemented The Batman as my favorite character.

The best stories of The Batman have dealt with his humanity but also his dark drive: those by O'Neil, Len Wein, Englehart, Grant, Dixon, Dini, Timm, etc.

The Batman series was--and is--an abomination, a diluted, kiddified version of The Batman. My girls know we don't watch it our household. It's insulting to their intelligence as young children.

As for Kane selling out, wouldn't surprise me. Now if Finger had been in the driver's seat (or even the passenger's) it wouldn't have been a stupid show. Probably would have been somewhat light (Adventures of Superman) but still an action show with more serious overtones.

Wait... wut? I like old school looks, but not that old school. LOL. Although, I still like Adam West better than Christian Bale & George Clooney. LOL.

As far as I'm concerned this is absolutely great news. There's only two things that could make this news better:1.If the haters would just leave this topic alone rather than drag it down for no reason (don't like something ignore it and move on), and 2.If they could find a competent toy company that could produce well-made action figures for mass retail to replace the incompetence of Mattel.

My father grew up on the Adam West Batman, and I've always been a fan of it. It's campy and comical, but that's what I enjoy about it. Things don't need to be all gloom and doom to be good.

my dad did too. and i cant tell you how many times he watched the reruns with me and how we both laughed about how goofy it was. but its still a good show IMO and its part of batmans history. its just like how the haters dont like robin or how they hate how joker has harley quinn.

personally, i cant stand how frank miller writes/draws batman but i gotta give him respect for his contrition to batmans rich history, and how he introduced batman to future fans. the adam west show is the same way. sure its silly and goofy but its still fun to watch .

anyways on topic...ill buy the adam west and burt ward figues soon as i can

Batman hasn't always been brooding and grim. There was an era when Batman comics were also campy. Mattel is still cranking out Batmobiles and assorted comic vehicles. Check you local stores for End caps full of Batmobile only assortments.

I just want them to keep cranking out Batman figures and vehicles, even the really old school stuff. I love it all.

So because we disagree with you we should not be allowed to state our opinion?

Have you even read a single Batman comic in your life? I'm not saying it has to be gloom and doom, but there was nothing Batman about that show. He never did any sneaking around, he did not rely on scaring his enemies, hell, did he even go out at night? From what I remember, everything took place during the daytime.
