i absolutely love that custom bane. the crossbones body is perfect for him. catwoman looks great too. i might have to borrow your recipe for bane if you dont mind... how does that head fit on though? does it snap on like a marvel universe one?? fairly easily??

Wow this thread is pretty timely for me,iv been pretty negative about Mattels 3.75inch lines in the past,so im turning over a new leaf starting today!! Iv just today bought Black Hand, who i have always thought is an awesome looking character!!! When he arrives il post pics of him with my GL G'Hu and the testshot GL rock guy(whose goddamn name has slipped my mind dammit!!!) I think my next purchase will be my all-time favourite Justice League member Blue Beetle!!!

Holy crap this is a small thread.

I am a little new here at Toyark and to this thread, and I will tell you up front I am more of a Marvel guy. I love Mattel's DC 6" figures, but their 3 3/4" figure leave a lot to be desired. The Infinite Heroes were starting to get good (better articulation, better sculpts, no more boxing glove sized hands) but then they cancelled them.

I thought the Green Lanterns had nice sculpts, but you it's bad when a 1984 Super Powers figure has just as much if not more Articulation. The DKR Figures are a really big disappiontment. They remind me of high end game piece as opposed to action figures. I will admit I bought Batman in a 2pk the first time around when they were at Target for $8.99. Again nice sculpts, but Bane looks like a dollar store toy.

One of the main things I collect are Mattel's WWE figures, and they are going to now be making WWE in 3 3/4" scale. I was jazzed at first, but after seeing these I hold very little stock in Mattel's ability to make good small scale figures.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Hhmmm good question!! To do those Wrasslers justice they are going to have to up their game, hopefully the designers have been trawling toysites etc looking at other toylines articulation, seeing what people want and expect from a wrestling toyline. This could be the thing to turn Mattel around and make them see that 3.75inch figures are the way forward,as long as they are designed and produced PROPERLY!!!

They don't have to much to do really. If Jakks were able to shrink their deluxe WWE figs (Build 'n Brawlers) I don't see why Mattel can't shrink their Elite style figures.

Even the Voltron 3 3/4" pilot figures are subpar compared to other brands and those could be alot better for what ppl are paying for them on Matty Collector. I just don't get how Mattel has a hard time making 3 3/4" figures.

I can understand why the Dark Knight Rises and Green Lantern figures are they way they are since both are/were summer blockbuster films and they want to keep it cheap for the parents who buy this stuff for their kids. But when a 3 3/4" is $15 +shipping on Matty they should really knock those out of the park.

Mattel showed with the later DCIH figures and the Avatar line that they are capable of putting out a decent 4 inch line. Whether they will actually ever do it remains to be seen.

I haven't seen the news about the WWE figs. I was really sad when the Build 'n' Brawl figures were cancelled. That was actually a pretty decent figure line.

Yep i was just looking at the JLU figures that came with Starro, those guys had awesome articulation, that v3.0 body was pretty damn cool, its a shame they didnt use those from wave 1,those figures would have flown off the shelves!!! If they use that body for the wrestlers it will be a great start, and we can start hassling them to give us the super-heroes again!!! Now do i buy Martian Manhunter or not!!!!

Martian Manhunter is pretty cool but they used the newer more articulated buck on him, now depending on how many 3.75" DC figs that used the older buck (beefier) on your display, martian Manhunter looks famish next to old figures. But then again he is a shape shifter so you could just say he wanted to look like that.

I seriously beg to differ. If you look at my Lantern groupshot, the JLUs are very close in scale - about the same size as the bigger GL line ones. 4.5 inches at the very largest, has to be.

There were also Microman licensed DC characters (Superman, Supergirl, Batman, Batgirl, Catwoman, Cyborg Superman, Superman Returns Supes)
How could I have forgotten these? I have Superman Returns S-man and Batman Begins Ra's Al Ghul.

I have a Martian Manhunter. He took a tumble from the top shelf and his leg snapped right off at the knee. I emailed Mattel, and they sent me a coupon/certificate thing for a free figure. That was cool of them.

I feel your pain about the aquaman, lapu. I never did shell out for the starro set since I already have most of the figs in some form already except for the fishtalker.

The only fig from that line that I regret not buying was Blue Beetle. JLI ended up getting tons of love in the DCIH line.

I wanted the Starro set but I couldn't afford it at the time. I think they're all out of stock everywhere now.

She-it, I'm glad I got mine at a semi-decent price (whole box for like $65). eBay has it for like $80 alone in some cases.

I wish I could get a hold of some of the Starro spores they were giving out 'round the same time. I'd like at the VERY least just two of 'em, but I don't feel like paying $20 a bag.

That makes them a bit too large. Consider that the Young Justice kids should be shorter than their adult counterparts. Yet the YJ kids are as tall or taller than most of the other adult sized 4 inch figure lines.

Anyway here are some updated group shots...

Er...weren't theDC figs 3.5"? I have a couple I bought for parts/comedy value and they're way smaller than even the first MU figs- smaller than GI Joe too!

The only thing they were big on was Fail.

I don't think it's worth the price. I'm an idiot for picking it up for $11 but they had no single carded Bane and I wanted one. The miniguns are actually the coolest part of the figure, so I think they'd work on any figure of this scale. If you find one one sale, go for it.

The mechanism they use to attach the guns is pretty much rubbish though.
