Because the line lasted shorter than WB/DC could pay their bills for the line(and game)!

Maybe the sequel game's line if it gets one. Though I'm hoping for a more mainstream release of them this time at more than specialty stores. This line could use a re-do with more durable materials in a bigger retailer environment.

They announced that they are making another Injustice game so that should mean more figures.

They ended the line well before the possible figures were exhausted. I wouldn't hold your breath. Wouldn't suprise me at all to see some IJ2 figures released under the 6" MV line though

If I'm not mistaken they've started using better plastic so if they do make Injustice 2 figures (and I'm REALLY hoping they do) there shouldn't be so many breakage problems. A 3.75 Supergirl and Grodd would be a good start. Maybe they could even make the characters they didn't get around to from the first game.

I doubt they'd start releasing them in places like Walmart though. I don't really understand why DCC products aren't more mainstream either. If I saw some of the B:TAS figures in Wally World or Target I'd more than likely get a few on sight. Not really a fan of bigger figures but those would be too awesome to pass up.

Well, B:TAS I can get why, it is more collector focused without even reruns to bolster sales to others. But something like this with a game that's sold extremely well(even if it took some arguing to get them to make it, oh hey, and look at that, it's getting a sequel!) you'd think at least Toys R Us would carry them alongside the Mortal Kombat figures.

Part of that though is also the people that make them. Their market is "direct market" places, which usually means stuff like the occasional book store, entertainment stores like FYE(or suncoast), Gamestops, and comic shops. It's very rare to see their material at major retailers like TRU, Walmart, and Target. To that end though, I'd kind of hope DC would choose to lean more on Mattel for these, but after the debacle that was Arkham Knight, I'm not sure if they would since Mattel is so heavy on the 6''. But even DC Direct seems to be trying to go back to mainly a 6-8'' focus. Which is a shame. They do some great detailed 4'' work, and all they needed to do was work out some of the durability issues.

I really don't get why both can't co-exist on market. Some fans prefer 4'', others prefer 6''. Both sell decently normally when the figure is handled well and 4'' provides a lot of cost benefits too.

a 4'' supergirl and Grodd would be a perfect place to start, especially with the backing of the popularity from the TV shows.
Same to many of the other characters. A TRU store release of a Flash two pack, or even Raven and others would do amazingly well in the current market climate thanks to the TV shows and movie hype.

I've never understood why it has to be one or the other either. And the way certain fans on both sides treat the other is beyond ridiculous.

Speaking of Supergirl I'm about to start watching the 1sr season of the show this weekend and I'm looking forward to her being in Injustice 2. I'm interested to see where she was in the first game and how she'll react to all the bad stuff Superdick did in the first game. Hope he reels it back to being more like the real Superman by the end.

Scale matters. You are not going to pose a 4" Hulk fighting a 6" Puck, that would just look silly.

That's not really what I meant. I guess I should've said I don't understand why both scales can't be made. There's no reason the Multiverse line can't have 6 inch AND 4 inch figures.

Sorry about that.

Quoted for truth. I cherry pick from both scales, so the abrupt slowdown of 4in figures has been jarring.

I'm considering using this figure for Amanda Waller, but I can find a good base. Are there any suited female figures in this scale with average articulation?

None that I know of but that makes for a pretty good New52 version of Waller.

The difference between 6 inch collectors and 3 3/4 inch collectors is that, for the most part. 6 inch collectors seem to view 3 3/4 inch lines as a nuisance. You ever see those comments that are like, "That better be a 6 inch figure!" Or, "Man, I was hoping that this was a 6 inch figure!" It stems from the rise of 3 3/4 inch figures a few years back, and how people got angry about that, and a bit of bitterness lingers there. 3 3/4 inch collectors, whilst we do moan about our scale being abused, don't tend to mind that 6 inch lines exist(even when they're actually frustrating in their existence *cough cough* 6 inch Multiverse. *cough cough*). We just want to have some figures in our scale. There are exceptions to this on both sides, obviously, but that seems to be my general view of them.

Also, fair warning on Supergirl: It's pretty alright so far(I'm going through reruns on CW), but give it a few episodes.

Varies. I'd love to have everything covered in 4'', but I love that 6'' is around because in rare instances, I wouldn't mind an oversized figure for my collection.

I really think the lines can work hand in hand more like that. Both DC and Marvel. So catering to both works. There are some they'd want smaller of like Atom and similar, and there are some we'd want larger of like Trigon, Nekron, and more.

Also, for Supergirl, it varies throughout, but overall it's a pretty solid winner as a series.

That heat vision episode is still one of my favorites though. And I really hope they expand on some of the tech ideas they suggest at various points too. (Trying not to spoil!)

Also, 3 3/4 inch did come first. For them to bemoan us when they wouldn't even exist without us.....

CCC.
Actually 12'' came first.
The standard with articulation started with Bild Lilli then mainstreamed later as Barbie. Hasbro took that and made the first GI Joe, then from GI Joe it went to 3.75 with the RAH line in the 80s. Then came 4'' and other varied into 5'' with Toy Biz, Mattel, and Kenner. Which eventually led to the 6'' market of legends in the late 90s.

Kenners first Super powers line for DC was 1984. Mattel's Secret wars was 1984. The first GI Joe: RAH line was 1982. Mego's Pocket Heroes was 1979, Mego's comic action heroes was 1974, Mego's Marvel/DC 8'' figures were 1972. The first GI Joe was 1964. Barbie was 1959. And then Bild Lilli was 1955.

So action figures we know today came from Bild Lilli and Barbie's Ken. They were rebranded into the term "action figure" in 1964 because toy marketers felt that boys wouldn't play with "dolls" even though that's what they were.

The evolution of articulated action figures came from that.

So really, 12'' came first and 8'' was the first superhero figures. Then the smaller. And yes, they are all "dolls," even the figures of today. It's semantics and marketing as to why the term changed.

I consider a doll to have removable cloth goods while an action figure has clothing molded as part of the figure, mainly because that is how customs differentiates them.

Batman's cloth capes. Fantastic 4 TAS' Thing figure with removable cloth trench coat. Toy Biz's Psylocke with cloth cloak. And those are only 3 examples from the 80s and 90s of both 4'' scale and 5'' scale.

Removable cloth goods have been improving our figures in all scales from the start to now.

And that's not even counting "girls toys" that have interchangeable plastic outfits that are still considered dolls.
