Wondercon has come and gone, lots of fun toy news. Except for DC 1/18 toys. I know Spin Master has Batman stuff in the pipeline. I guess they are done with the DC universe at large? So basically a repeat of anyone who gets the license. Lol.
Have they shown or announced 1:18 Batman aside the Burton movie stuff?

Spin Master has been notoriously lacking in updates
perhaps they weren't at WonderCon?

^ that's awesome ninji! Man I wish we'd get a proper heath ledger joker. Do you put all your collection on shelves or do you store some? Seems like you've been collecting forever... I know I'm starting to run out of space and need to start purging soon

Well if they're doing all the previous Batman movies then maybe there's still hope to get a Cavill Superman.

Spin Master has lost their nerve and their imagination after the Flash movie tanked. I had high hopes for it too, a lot of people were disappointed in how that went. I know SM is Batman-fixated, so I get why they tried to capitalize on Keaton/Affleck and their vehicles.

But that's over. A new DCU film and TV slate is in the works. Shouldn't this be the time to build excitement for everything DC that's heading our way? A fresh line of sculpts, celebrating the entire DC Universe in the 3.75" scale! Fan favorite picks - hell, conduct polls on social media to gauge what we're wanting to buy.

McFarlane is providing major fan service at multiple scales. They still do a TON of Batman stuff, but they're smart enough to realize that the entire license has so much potential. And they don't stop at figures, regularly releasing new vehicles and the occasional playset as well.

It continues to be frustrating being a DC fan and 1/18 collector.

our major toy chain, Smyths, just flat out decided to stop doing 1/18 in general and the other toy chain, World of WOnder haven't updated their stock in like 2 years.

It's not Spin Master, it's the scale. Spin Master can only make the things DC approves/wants them to make and that sales justify. If 1:18 scale isn't selling and is consistently being clearanced out, retailers aren't gonna buy/carry it, so they're naturally gonna produce less in that scale. It sucks, but that's the reality. Blaming Spin Master for the situation is silly.

Well, things are tough all over. You can blame the scale, but other companies continue to put out product at this scale. Hasbro apparently saw something in it since they have gone back to kid-centric, 1:18 toys.

You mean those 1:18 scale Marvel and Star Wars figures that are consistently being marked down on Amazon and clearanced at Walmart and Target? Now, just about everything "toy" ends up on clearance these days, but it's hard not to notice that it's doubly true of 1:18 scale toys, and that the scale has a rapidly shrinking presense in the toy aisle (note that both 1:18 scale Fortnite and Halo lines have all but dissappeared from retail shelves too). The sad truth is, kids are buying less and less of any scale action figure and adult nerds in general prefer 6-7" figures. Despite the best efforts of companies like Spin Master, Jazwares, Mattel and Hasbro, the market for 1:18 scale toys just isn't very large anymore.

A big part of the problem is poor distribution sends excessive amounts of stock to one store and not others. Presumably because they sold worse in other areas, they decide not to stock them at all, or option them for retailers for example in europe. this is partly why toys in general seem to be clearance-ing a lot in the US I imagine. Things get clearanced here quite a bit too but to nowhere near the extreme.

I finally opened my Aquaman movie 4 pack with Shark soldier.
Unfortunately one of my sets was missing the accessories.
