This is nothing new. This is as old as toys themselves. This is how toy companies work. The only difference is we see it now thanks to the internet and communications.
It's upsetting but not surprising.
Mattel does this a lot (So does Hasbro). And has done as recently as the Superman Legacy line.
Manbat was supossed to be a DCSH toy, but got cancelled, and wasn't able to show up until DCUC's wave 10 (And was limited to being a store exclusive at that).
They also don't have to explain it to us why, either. So it's not surprising they haven't said anything.
Everything said has been nothing but wild speculation, and Mattel could simply be restructuring the line.

The sarcasm wasn't directed at you, it was directed at mattel.

Technically Man Bat did come out but you had to go to NYCC or NYTF. It like Mr. Freeze, Catwoman, Batgirl, and Catman all probably should have been out in a DCUC wave and yet we get them in Batman Legacy and Mr. Freeze is just a Repaint & Rerelease. I do hope when they release these they are to all stores not this Target, Wal Mart, Kmart, or Toy R Us 1st I had wave 19 except Atom for 5 months I haven't seen him since that time couldn't get him then so I bought it off Amazon

Okay. Seriously Mattel. Why the Hell do you put a miniature S-Shield on New52 Supermans Chest? Come On Mattel. I am wanting the DCD version more than the Mattel version. But DCD is 10 months away. Look at the difference.

Another thing with Mattel and Superman is they are still trying to find the right color formula for a Superman Blue. DCD knows it. Superman is NOT dark Blue. He is a lighter Blue or Superman Blue.

Oddly enough, the Cyborg Superman's shade of blue is pretty good so they obviously have that shade somewhere.

Another thing I am looking at is the Red Robin figure. I have looked at a few Robin character faces and none of them has a Broad Chin line as is the case with Red Robin. All the robins have a narrow chin line.

Its just amazing that they don't use it? I am a big Superman Fan and with the small S-Shield and the wrong Blue color just starts to get to me .

I think he's based on Alex Ross' Red Robin and in Alex Ross' world, there are no narrow chin lines... LOL.

Makes sense, the 4H make their own interpretations of DC characters, but the most similar things that come to mind, at least for me, are Alex Ross' renditions.

The New 52 Batman looks a lot better than the New 52 Superman. Might pick him up if I ever see him. I hope they make a New 52 Green Lantern sometime down the line.

Sweet. My DCUC GL needs replacing and I haven't been able to find a Hal to fill his spot yet.

I think he was referring to the DCUC 6" style not DC direct. So far there has been no release date or even mention of a New 52 Green Lantern other than the DC direct line.

I did indeed. Bummer since I don't really collect DC Direct. All I have is a Hush Batman and The Long Halloween gift set and both of those were gifts given to me.

I think I can answer this one... maybe because of the Ab crunch? So I guess you have to ask yourself... bigger shield, or ab crunch...

I told myself the same thing at first, but if you look close enough, there is plenty of room to make it bigger. If you look at where the ab crunch begins on the DCUC figure and where the bottom of the shield ends in the DCD figure, as well as how the top of the shield ends at the base of the neck you can tell DCUC just got the shield wrong.

There is room for improvement IMO.

DCD Direct knows how to put a large S-shield on its Superman figures. Their Superboy Primes S-Shield is again larger than DCUC. Dont get me wrong I really like DCUC Figures but when it comes to Superman they just dont know what they are doing.

EDIT: I will most likely get the DCUC SBP. I really like the look of him and the smaller S-Shield works for him.
