Wonder Woman NEEDS a functional Lasso of Truth like the Icons one had.

I can't help but feel that this line is going to be Icons all over again because they're just doing the same characters yet again that there are already hundreds of versions of. I honestly think it would have been more fruitful to continue Icons as planned because we'd have gotten more characters that don't get enough toy attention.

Something looks really off with Flash, Nightwing and Deathstroke. I would say hopefully the final product will be fixed, but we saw how well they bothered to fix issues with the final products of the Icons line.

I do like Superman, Green Lantern, WW, and Batman though, but again, I need DC to actually prove they are going to commit to this line.

EDIT: I just noticed something. Superman's S and Flash's lightning logos are not even sculpted, they are just painted. What kind of lazy ass shit is this?!

Same here, never again I will support a line from this guys, specially with such bland sculpts.

Wow, my Icons Green Arrow responded to this news by having the string on his bow break off. I opened up my case to pull the figures out to take a picture to sell them and the string was just hanging there. The thing is, I didn't even have him posed touching the bow string. It was just resting in his hand in a more static pose.

Maybe I should try and hunt down a couple of the Mattel figures I sold offf (obviously not the ones I sold off). I'm thinking like Flash's Rogues, Neal Adams Batman, Dick Grayson Robin, 40s Joker, and some others. Shit, why did I ever sell them off in the first place?

It's too bad these weren't 1:18 scale. I'd have gotten all of them but at this scale its an easy pass.

They're 6 inches. How much bigger do you want?

My condolences. Nothing against you, I just have no interest in 4inch figures anymore.

BTW, is this a giant middle finger for those that were trying to support and keep afloat the icons line?

According to ToyNewsI, they'll only come with minimal accessories. I would say maybe an alternate pair of hands, a weapon when appropriate for the character (Batarang, GL Power Battery), and a clear display stand.

DCC is waiting to see how this line does before they decide to end the Icons line. I'd say that Icons will get canceled since DCE has everything fans wanted from Icons in terms of scale, articulation, and sculpt.

lol DC is waiting to see how this line does before they cancel it? Yeah, why should I support another line that I have no idea if it is going to be a success? DC, you either have to go all in or don't do it at all. I can no longer support these half measured trials.

BTW, I just realized that is totally Wally West Flash. He doesn't have the wings on the boots and the belt is the angular one that Wally has.

That's actually Barry's current costume. Pre-New 52 Wally's costume in Rebirth (have to denote Pre-New 52 because both pre-New 52 and post-New 52 Wally West exist simultaneously in Reirth) looks like his Kid Flash costume, but all red (a slightly darker red than Barry's), and white instead of yellow for the accent colors.

That Batman looks a lot more like his Rebirth design. You can tell the JL 7-pack figures were quickly retooled from the New 52 designs.

I'm hoping this new line is much better than Icons, as I couldn't get into it after many problems such as the size issue with Batman and the missing hands with Joker.

Right now I'm building a definitive Batman display with past figures from the DC Direct and DCUC-era. Going along pretty good so far! Found a brand-new JLA series 2 Batman for cheap, as well as a Batman & Son Robin! Bat Rogues-wise I have an Alex Ross Scarecrow and DCUC Two-Face with the classic orange/purple suit!

I'm liking these figures more the more I look at them. Icons had a more realistic style about them, these seem to be more "comic", like Marvel Legends only with double elbows for women.

Does DCC use pre-orders from e-tailors to measure demand? I realize that DCC does not have the power of Hasbro, but 12 months for a delivery date is RIDICULOUS; I've seen Kick-starters with quicker turn around times.

At least it gives us enough time for them to get our collective hopes up, just to shatter them with cancellations.

It just depends on the company and how far into the production process they show their figures. Mondo's 1/6 scale Ninja Turtles took about a year before the first figure started to ship. Bandai first showed the Figuarts Han and Chewie a couple of years ago and they've both hit in the past couple of months. I think there are even some DC Multiverse figures from Mattel that were shown at SDCC last year that still don't have a release date.

While it is good to know the only figures I will be willing to possibly buy are the first ones to get released, I have no confidence in DC to support the line at this time. Plus, they have yet to tell me what the figures are coming with.

Kinda reluctant to get into this after the Icons thing...

Also the proportions on some of these guys looks very off. Lets see if they do Green Arrow or Sinestro and maybe I'll be interested. Also can this 7 inch scale only stuff just end? How are we supposed to mix and match when the figures are on a whole different scale?

You've clearly never been on the DC Icons thread over on the Fwoosh. Some collectors trashed the line from the very beginning because they lacked a thigh swivel and were undersized compared to Marvel Legends and DCUC. I'm not sure how people could deem a toy line a failure for those two things alone. I liked Icons from the very beginning. While I may sell a few of them, I'm probably going to keep most of the Batman related Icons figures.

I think DC Icons is dead.
  1. You don't prototype 8 figures unless you're REALLY serious about replacing an existing line.
  2. DC Essentials fixes the height and articulation "problems" of Icons.
  3. DCE also fits into scale with the Bombshells figures.
  4. We've yet to see any Icons figures like Nightwing or Supergirl on display but it may still be too early. Although previous Icons figures have been shown at Cons only to never be seen again.

If they fix the arms I might be down for Superman and Batman. Would go well with the Super Sons Icons pack
