Essentials will be a great line, its time to move foward.
Essentials is not fixing anything. 90% same sculpt on every figure, no interchangable parts, most figures will have one accessory, new scale will tower over Marvel Legends.

At least the upscale later in the Icons line got them closer to Marvel Legends. The Rebirth Batman looks great next to a Captain America figure

Yeah, but the Essentials will be more in scale with 99% of DC Direct/ Collectibles other figures. I'm sure they could care less about Marvel's crap.

It sounded like you replied to the previous post where the guy said " Icons figures weren't as tall as Marvel Legends" saying that Essentials fixed that.

What were you referring to when you said they fixed that? Going back to the 7" DCC scale?

fixed the scale to legends scale. everybody was complaining about Icons scale, they said it was small etc...that was the main issue with that line, you should know that? youre a collector, right?

I have no clue what you are saying anymore. The Batman pic that I posted was the second Batman in the Icons line after they did their upscale, but you are a collector so you knew that.

You made it sound like Essentials (which will be 6.75") is going to scale well with the 6" Marvel Legends, so I am not really sure what they are fixing. Unless you are talking about fixing in the sense that they are going back to the scale they used before Icons.

I honestly don't care about scale, I care about the quality of the figures and the Essentials line does not have the quality. I also see no reason to jump into another line that is just repeating the same characters over and will probably get canceled before they do anyone interesting.

Anyone can release Batman, Superman, Flash, GL, and WW, but how about doing lower tier characters like Jonah Hex, Ambush Bug, The Question, Etrigan in the first waves to show they aren't just going to do the main ones in the line?

*facepalm* legends are not 'true' 6" figs. they are taller just like the new essentials. got it.

Nope, I got it now. Well, like Dr. Kain said. Enjoy the same releases but this time with all the same body molds.

If it lets them get more characters out cheaply then I'm fine with that personally.

And that’s cool man. I left DCUC because of the same molds being used over and over again. Icons was a better choice for me because I liked the individual sculpts and some slight improvements on articulation. Shame the line ended before it fully hit its stride but that’s the DCC way.

I'd much prefer Icons to continue over Essentials, it is definitely the superior line.
But I do think Essentials could be something much closer to "DC Legends" than Icons. Less unique individually but greater selection overall. That's my hope anyway. I'm going to give it a chance but I certainly get why people are bitter about Icons.

I don't know, but I'm going to guess that he can't keep a job because he is a toxic presence in any place he goes.
You know, after dealing with collectors for a few years, I find less and less fault with how Scott operated. Collectors are their own worst enemy and I have no doubt that they sucked all of the fun out of working for a toy company. I know they've sure sucked alot of the fun out of running a toy store.

Anyway, I just looked him up to confirm his trajectory and I think it's sad that he landed at Entertainment Earth. What a shithole company. Nobody there is actually interested in toys. Their in-house brand is a joke and has absolutely nothing going for it having utterly squandered every license they've ever managed to pick up. Unless he has a free hand to actually do something interesting, which he won't because their primary focus is on scamming distribution clients, he won't be there very long either. God damn, if there's anybody that's done more harm to the industry than Bain Capital, it's the insufferable fuckups at Entertainment Earth. Really should've stayed at Mattel, Scott...

I picked up Icons Green Lantern today. Been eyeing it every since it was announced two years ago or whenever. I could never bring myself to buy it however because I'm not a huge fan of Green Lantern as a character, I really just like the armor. However, I found it open box at a local toy shop and picked it up. I really like how well the armor fits, especially since some of my previous icons don't exactly work well with their accessories. The only downside for me is that since I got it open box, while it did include all the parts, it didn't include the instructions and it was a bit difficult to figure out how to get on a few of the pieces without that.
