Looks like the Total Heroes line has finally hit stores
I saw these at TrU today. Honestly, they aren't nearly as bad as I had anticipated, but they are FAR from being what I would consider to be "good" figures. But, with the popularity of Mattel's generic Batman line and Hasbro's Marvel Super Hero Mashers line, I guess that there's a market for these. Lol, I don't get the appeal of ANY of those aforementioned figure lines, but I'm sure that I've posted pics of plenty of purchases that have made other Arkers ask "what was he thinking ?"

What's with all these figures coming out from DC and Marvel? I guess they're trying to cater to all ages.

Haven't seen them in-person yet, but I actually like the look of these. That said, I'm not sure if I'll actually get any of them. I was excited for the Batman Beyond figure... till it was announced to be a MattyCollector exclusive.

They're not something I'm currently interested in, but I'll check them out in person once they hit retail in my area. Maybe then I might pick one up just to see how they are in-hand.

No surprise there. You've pretty much made your opinion known in every single Mattel thread we have here. I still don't know why you even bothered to read this thread, let alone comment.

I'm going to guess 9.99. Anyone feel free to correct that if I'm wrong.

Oops, my mistake, looks like I dropped the ball on checking the price. Lol, in my defense, the store was closing in 20 minutes, and they were incessantly playing those "the store will be closing..." messages. Also, the employees were eying my angrily for taking these off the pegs and lining them up to take pics, while they were straightening and organizing the shelves. To avoid being a nuisance any further, I put em back where I found em, and took my item to the register.

I absolutely agree. I apologize for repeating myself, but here is how I feel about these, basically copied and pasted from the "look what I passed up" thread:

"This line would have made a great supplemental series alongside the DCU line, but I think that many of us just feel as if Mattel is moving backwards in regard to design and quality. Honestly, these figures truly don't deserve a lot of the criticism being thrown their way, but I think most people are lashing out due to anger at Mattel's poor treatment, and resultant cancellation of the DCU line. These perfectly adequate figures have become a scapegoat, largely because they have, in a sense, replaced a very popular line that many feel was greatly mismanaged. "

Whether or not Mattel actually intended for this line to be a replacement for the DCU series, that's how many collectors are perceiving these. That's just my two cents though. LOL, I'm honestly not big enough of a DC fan to warrant having put this much thought and concern into the topic

Just watched a review of the Superman figure. The guy said these cost between ten and eleven bucks. Depending on how they look in-person I might get the Superman figure and the blue and gray Batman that they showed off at NYCC. They won't match, but I think they'll look good with my other 6" DC figures.

Since it doesn't look like they're sticking to just n52 inspired designs, I would like to see them make figures with suits inspired by some of the live-action costumes. Like a Green Arrow figure that remains in this basic style, but takes cues from Arrow.

I also kinda hope they get around to doing female characters too. I'm curious to see what a female figure would look like in this style.

Funny, Mattel is producing figures that have more points of articulation then some of the stuff Hasbro has been releasing.

I was thinking of picking one or two up for 4" sigma 6 customs.

That was actually pretty cool of him.

Considering the Total Heroes figures are 6" scale, I don't think that's going to work.

Ah. The 4" DC line is called "Multiverse". But you could probably still use Total Heroes for custom Sigma 6 figures. IIRC, those were also 6" or thereabouts.

A lot of the negative kick back of these figures come from what Mattel has said about them... "You'll learn to appreciate these figures." You cannot force people to spend money on them much the same way the previous lines failed these will too. While 10$ is a good price a lot of DCers who collected only the 4 Horsemen tooled lines wont go for figures that don't compare. Honestly this year for me is as follows get what 4H tooled figures I need to complete the series including the promised figures from the club and not purchase any action figure retail lines put out by mattel. In effect Matty will only get money from me on 4H DC figures and not one penny on anything else

I thought those were for the Arkham Asylum line? The ones I am thinking of are just under the name of "Batman" and the characters I remember are Flash, Superman, Joker, Batman, Azrael... Ummm... That's all I can remember. I tried looking up the product line but Mattel "Batman" is pretty vague. I did find this figure set on TRU though...

Only the first wave or so. According to Mattel, the Multiverse line will not be limited to one particular era of DC. After the AC figures, they are supposed to release toys from other sources (like Keaton Batman and Reeve Superman).

Oh, that 4" line. Yeah, definitely not Total Heroes or Multiverse. As far as I know, that "Batman" line is mostly just Bats and his supporting cast with a few others dropped in here and there (like Superman). I know some of them were basically down-scaled versions of previously released figures.

They are retailing for $9.99 at Toys R' Us. My girlfriend and I ran into the entire set of them about two days ago at TRU, and we came pretty damn close to buying them all. I normally would have, if I didn't spend some much money already tracking down the recent Marvel Legends waves. My girlfriend came close to picking them up for herself just to spite me (we like to compete with one another finding things,) but she decided to hold off once I told her there was a Green Lantern and Sinestro coming in the near future. (She's a big GL fan...)
