I think the likeness looks fine, even arguably more recognizable as Keaton than the Flash release. That said, the cowl's neck sculpt could be a lot better and that's something that the Flash release got right. But then that's also the consequence of putting an articulation point where there shouldn't be one at all. Even so, I think it's a solid effort for the 89 design done as a toy and there's plenty of 3rd party sculpts if you want something more high quality.

Looking at the figure straight on, it almost looks like Bale when he screen tested for the role in the Kilmer suit lol.

Really wish this Batmobile could have more to it. & I don’t see it as all that difficult to have the canopy/door slide forward accurately. Wonder how risky it would be to try & home fix it? Or can it actually slide forward cuz I’ve seen the 1 released on his website do both in some images? Good thing about Amazon exclusives, if it’s anything like their Marvel exclusives they’ll come back in stock quite a few times, so we that haven’t somehow hacked this & spent every second of the small window to buy it out, get another chance.

There's some good youtube videos out there of some people customizing the Flash Batmobile in better ways. Not just repainting the canopy, but one guy even modified the interior for a 2-person seat and other impressive upgrades.

I have the first release. It does movie accurately slide forward as well as hinge straight up. I managed to get my pre-orders in the second it came online. However that's what I did with the first release and it still got canceled on Amazon. Luckily I had a back up preorder at the Mcfarlane store itself. Hopefully this Amazon preorder won't get canceled like before.

I also had my Amazon “Flash” batmobile cancelled. I had a second ordered from BBTS in case. Well, that “in case” happened. So until this set is literally in my hands, I don’t have one. I’m cautiously optimistic but we will see.

The cape is all wrong. None of it sits on the frontside which is a trademark of this costume. Come on Todd, if you are going to do something, do it right. At least the figure fits in this car.

Ive been on the lookout for these just found both in stock to ship for 25$ from cmdstore amazon us .Got my order in says arriving july 17. I would head over there if your wanting these 2 gold label characters. I bet that price wont stay that low for long.

I wish CMDstore got all the Gijoe Classified exclusives also . I Hate walmart , dont to want even give them any business. So id rather pay extra 5 to Cmd . Cmd will pack it nice in box cause they understand the world of collectibles a bit more .

Hell almost every toy line these days is almost half exclusives. Mcfarlane just seems to be stuck in the late 90’s/early 2000’s where people paid for the same fig twice because of variants. Variants are relics of days gone by as most toylines incorporate the old “variant” idea by adding in extra parts so one cam switch between “variants”! Todd needs to do this and quit releasing the same fig. Todds stuff is like the lisa lionheart episode of the simpsons, where malibu stacy is the exact same release, but with a new hat!

I hope this ‘89 Batman figure gets sold separately. I’ll be pretty happy if he’s included in the 6 pack. Batman Returns is more preferred look, tho, so hopefully they’ll reuse the sculpted ‘89 arms and legs on that one.

For reals! The lack of accessories just screams that this is a stripped down pack-in version of an eventual solo release. I mean, they didn't even include the goofy versions of the batarang and speargun from Flash Keaton.

There are panel lines all over those parts, though. Even the parts that are seem the same between costumes are still different, so the only part they could reuse is the belt since it's already the Returns version, assuming it's separate and not attached to the briefs.

I suppose they could reuse the hands between versions if they decide to not care about the palm studs?
