Redeemer himself has shelf warmed to a $10 price point on Amazon. I'll just wait for the prices of "collector's edition" figures to drop as well.

I’m not dropping McFarlane line like others are claiming they are. True that McFarlane have been making quite a bit of crappy figures so far but he had made some bangers and some good ones will come out in the future.
This Batjoker, though, is crap, imo. What next? Glow-in-the-dark versions of Drowned or Shriek or King Shazam? Seems like he’s making pegwarmers glow in the dark in the back corner so people can recognize them. I have an idea for McFarlane… make Metallo with torn clothes and have a kryptonite in his chest to glow in the dark. Eyes glow, too. Boom. Money on the table. |

To be fair, I’ve never really cared for that look on Sinestro. I do prefer the slicked back hair (order is sort of his thing, which would include his appearance) to the longer, sometimes, unkept style the character was illustrated having during the Sinestro Corps War (the look featured on the card art), so that works to the fig's advantage. However, I also prefer an observably elongated forehead, or a generally larger head for the character. Something approaching the OG Leader that simultaneously looks somewhat alien but is still within human range. The head-sculpt itself is also not very aesthetically pleasing with closely set eyes, a tiny mouth and poorly executed moustache. I also don’t like that body for this Sinestro. I prefer my Sinestro to be on the skinnier side. I don’t know much about McFar molds given that I own nothing from the line, but the hips seem far too close in width/circumference to the shoulders. This Sinestro buck seems to track closer to middle of the road rather than thin, but, again, I’m unfamiliar with what McFar offers in the way of variety. It’d be nice to see this next to the Deadman, or original/modern Blue Beetle molds.
I was similarly unimpressed with Black Lightning and both figures feel naggingly phoned in for a collection of persnickety reasons. They aren’t the worst, but in the same manner that I find many Marvel Legends to be inoffensive, yet also underwhelming, these leave me in a familiar place as a potential consumer. My subjective 2 cents since you asked. Last edited by TheBlueMarvel; 08-17-2023 at 08:25 AM.. |

Yeah, I’m not just indiscriminately hating McFar. I acknowledge the stuff he does that’s cool and would have picked up many of his figs had his line more closely matched the scale I collect. While I’m not currently one, I was a fan of his work circa the mid to late 90’s.
