The price is truly insane, but I think it would be more insane to call that De Niro likeness "dead on" but hey just another opinion in the mix.

Also, I find stuffing the package with "props" no one asked for or really wanted just to inflate the price was a lame move

The other one that was released was #27 and this one is #38, so different figures but if I had to put money on it I'd bet repaint over a brand new sculpt. Really hoping the Hawkgirl isn't the movie look

What is a fair and realistic price for that Joker set minus the unwanted extra throw-ins? Definitely would be interested if Todd released that. I'd probably display it using one of those clothed, unlicensed 1/12 Joker figures

Guessing Guy with bowl cut, might get the one that was shown with power girl
Looking forward to seeing how these look if they are true.

Granted I know very little about toymaking, but I never understood the idea of adding more stuff to justify the price point. Doesn’t making all those pack-ins cost money? It’s not like they just appear from the ether and don’t cost the company money to produce, so why not just cut those and sell it for less?

this was posted on twitter as to the reason the joker set is $250
Quote:
We’ve heard your feedback about the pricing of the Joker Movie set and wanted to take a moment to address your concerns.

Due to the mature nature of the Joker movie, we faced unique restrictions on pricing options, which made this approach the only way we could release the product. Despite these limitations, we remained committed to delivering a very limited offering that truly feels worth it. That’s why we packed as much value into the box as possible, with exclusive details and features we hope you’ll enjoy.

Your feedback means everything to us, and we’ll always strive to provide the best value while honoring the characters and stories you love. Thank you for your passion and input—it’s what inspires us to keep improving.

Somebody will. And somebody already has. The pre sales are on eBay. Not for me though. Lost in all this mess is that Hawkgirl and Adam Strange may be in the works. Throw in Black Canary and Zatanna and I'm good.

I would assume that the Guy Gardner listed here is the same one that was announced at NYCC. The Mr. Terrific figure on this new rumor list could be the 2025 movie version or even the Golden Age Terry Sloane version.

I just hope that McFarlane goes with a more modern version of Hawkgirl.

I did it. It’s done. I preordered the Joker box set. It’s over priced, and beyond what anyone should pay. I have waited over 30 years to have all of the DC film universe toys produced in one scale. It’s finally happening. I collect less now than I ever have but I want this collection complete for me.

Gutsy move. Though, not really. There will be collectors who just have to have it. In a way I thank you for your purchase. Your purchase helps keep my dream of getting what I would like to see or of this toy line.

Yes, I complain about it when it becomes rehashed or ridiculously overpriced, but the mctoys dc stuff I have purchased are a wonderful addition to my collection.

My hope is that they don't try to force both costumes on to the same mold and do one regular/one platinum like they have been with all these CE releases.... I think both of her main costumes are good enough that whichever one they don't do now deserves it's own mold later. Judging by the other characters they've done like Huntress, the Question, I'm assuming they're at least partly taking inspiration from the JL/JLU animated series, and I think we'll get her yellow shirt version first.

I guess being overpriced fits with how overhyped that piece of crap movie is. Seeing the sequel tank as hard as it did made me laugh my ass off.

Since 1989, I have attended every Batman film opening day. My wife and I refunded our tickets for Joker 2 after hearing how awful it was. Im not sure I’ll ever watch it.

So there will be a Gold Label version of B & R Mr. Freeze...I guess that'll be the version with actual chrome coloring, and a body that actually matches the superior quality of the headsculpt, unlike that cheap-looking body we got on the BAF version.

Although considering it could have been Bane or Chase Meridian, two figures who belong in the main line, I guess we shouldn't complain too much.

I don't think they're lying. There was a massive dearth of merchandise when the Joker movie first came out, and it was noticeable enough that there were even articles written about it.
https://www.ign.com/articles/2019/10...-barely-exists

I have no idea if it was a likeness thing or WB not wanting kids to buy stuff from the movie, but even now, all of the Joker merch we're actually getting is expensive, high end stuff like Hot Toys and thousand dollar statues, and nothing reasonably priced. Not even a Funko Pop, and Funko makes literally everything if they're allowed.

Now, that doesn't mean the set isn't still a massive ripoff or that I'm interested in it (I'm not; the first movie was an okay Scorsese pastiche but that was about it), but there does seem to be evidence for the claim that companies aren't allowed to do Joker movie toys below a certain price point.

I've wondered about the likeness rights for Robert De Niro and Joaquin Phoenix. Off the top of my head, I can't think of any officially licensed figures of either actor. I know Jack Nicholson's likeness is very expensive and that stopped Neca (and possibly Mattel) from ever producing a figure of his Joker.
