I really liked Laura Benanti's portrayal of Allura and Astra in the Supergirl TV series. The characters were much more nuanced and complex than Zod in the Donner and Snyder movies. Since Allura and Astra are identical twins, McFarlane could just use the same body for both characters.

Unfortunately that's likely another on the long list of figures we are never going to get.

I like some of the DC Multiverse stuff McFarlane does, but overall this line still disappoints. Not a fan of the wild proportions, even if it's reminiscent of what's drawn on the page, they don't translate the same into a 3D sculpt. Would have loved to get a line of figures closer to 1/12 scale that leaned into the classic looks like DC Icons did. Those just needed to get scaled up a smidge and they would have been perfect!

Unless it's Harley or Joker, everyone in these lines has a bored look on their faces.

That's why he needs to include alternate heads, but that's not happening. he's gotta charge full price for a different expression as a Gold Label or Platinum Label or "Variant"

DC Icons was so underrated. The paint and accessories were top-notch.

DC needs to be owned by another company other than WB. I just bought "The Three Joker" version of Red Hood. He's sculpted with gun wielding hands (trigger figure) but comes with a stupid crowbar because WB doesn't allow guns. DC needs to move to another company that's not owned by PC police like WB.

McFarlane, I like the sculpt work on the DC Multiverse line but can you please release more female figures other than Wonder Woman, Batgirl, and Harley Quinn? OMFG. How about Cheetah, Power Girl, Raven, Starfire, Supergirl, Zatanna, and Death just to name a few?

No build a figure for the Endless Winter stuff. Or at least this release of Aquaman, maybe they do a Batman Beyond style situation later.

EDIT - while the price, description and box don't metion a BAF - there does look to be alternate pieces in the box pic.

It's like the BAF are another batch because we are supposed to get EW Green Lantern/Batman/Wonder Woman.

Dark metal did it where Merciless was a BAF with half the figures from that wave. But the Dark Knights weren't BAF.

Though what is EW Green Lantern supposed to look like?
It's just Johns standard costume which they've already done. I guess it could be without some of the Mcfarlane details.

These both look pretty damn good!!
I know a lot of people get cranky about the "side eye" Todd's using these days, but I kind of feel like it's on brand for Aquaman, so I don't really mind.

Just so glad we're finally getting something DC, up until now it's been:
FANS: We'd like Aquaman, Todd
TODD: Hmm.. I usually don't spell Batman with an "A" and a "Q", but here you go: one zombie death metal skullface Batman coming up!

Never thought I'd say that Macfarlane makes good action figures!

Those elbows/knees are flush until you bend the knee/elbow and the cuts are atrocious. Marvel Legends typically wins here, especially with some pinless. Though figures with thinner arms on Mcfarlane have a more seamless cut.

I'm not talking about looking realistic but many of the Mcfarlane figures have a huge cavity with their elbow joints.

The diaper Mcfarlane uses has it's pros and cons. At it best it hides the waist swivel, covers up the upper thigh joints, and doesn't impede articulation. At it's worst it does the exact opposite.

Both lines could learn something from the other.
I personally feel like I get my money's worth with McFarlane stuff,

I feel Mcfarlane does some things very well that it's worth the purchase or I wouldn't own a lot of these figures.

But they can do better by adjusting some standardized parts. They've already improved so much since the first Superman/Batman figure.

At this point I certainly feel I get my money's worth with McFarlane over say Hasbro's Star Wars line.

See attached. On further look, the bottom one could be a reflection. Not sure what the one by fist is. The side angle shot of box doesn't seem to show anything there either.

Maybe I'm crazy too, that could be it.

Top one's a reflection, the one by his feet is just the standard McFarlane figure stand

Yeah looking closer, I can see it now. Brain was blending the reflection and stuff behind it together.

I guess they are using a light tent based on that upper reflection, dark spot in middle is the opening at front.
