Interesting discussion for collectors. I always had good experience with Eaglemoss. I would have bought more, if only the Star Trek franchise in particular would stop approving ugly ship designs.

Somewhat on topic, I found a cool resource with nice screenshots of all the ships seen in drydock at the Fleet Museum in a recent episode of Star Trek: Picard.

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Star Trek: Picard – The Ships of the Fleet Museum (c/o DapsMagic.com)

*** SPOILER ALERT ***

Picard (the series) has been an absolute delight, IMO, far superior to the other crud cranked out recently by the franchise.

Surely, some of the new ship designs seen in this show must be in the queue for a future release by whoever takes the place of Eaglemoss...?

The new Trek series certainly aren't moving any merchandise. It would seem, they have the exact opposite effect.

Revealed: What Eaglemoss Had Planned For Stargate Ships (c/o Gateworld.net, 13 May 2023)

Former "Hero Collector" product director Ben Robinson reveals what the company had planned for a full line of Stargate models.

IN BRIEF:
  • Eaglemoss had an initial list of 10 Stargate ships at various stages of development when the company went out of business — including the F-302, Asgard mothership, Puddle Jumper, Wraith Dart, and Destiny.
  • The company was also trying to figure out how to make a model Stargate that would be valuable to customers and profitable for the company.
  • A yet undisclosed party may be in negotiations to resume producing the “Hero Collector” line in the future, including the Stargate ships.

Master Replicas has another release today:

https://www.masterreplicas.com/

I wonder if the title for this thread could be changed to Eaglemoss Updates, or Master Replicas Eaglemoss Ships, or something better than "RIP?"

I have been saying for a long time. That nutrek merchandise doesn't sell, yet a lot of these companies keep making it anyway, Hiya Toys is going to lose money on the kelvin timeline figures. They are better off making original series figures. As for the eaglemoss stuff I stopped collecting at issue 80 because I knew they were going to make every ship, even previously unseen and obscure ships. That is probably why they failed because they made too many of the ships that nobody really wanted. Plus they also decided to do other franchises at the exact same time. Stretching themselves thin to the point where they couldn't handle much of it.

I haven't followed the situation closely: this news came out a few months ago. I hope it's okay to include the blurb posted on Reddit, because the source link seems to have been taken down.

FanHome Secures License for New Star Trek Models, Master Replicas Lose Out
Quote:
"FanHome has secured the sought-after license granted by Paramount and CBS for the production of an all-new collection of Star Trek starships. Speculations circulating within the industry suggest that this new line, highly reminiscent of Eaglemoss' renowned offerings, will commence with a meticulously crafted mid-size replica of Captain Picard's Titan starship.

FanHome’s announcement joins the impending arrival of more collectible Star Trek models, not only from Corgi but also a larger-than-life, Kickstarter-funded Enterprise from TOMY, slated for an early 2024 debut.

However, the sun appears to be quickly setting for Master Replicas as a litany of challenges continue to beleaguer the company. Reports detail perilous financial overstretch, warehouse staff walkouts, a snowballing accumulation of order backlogs, fulfilment errors, and persistent issues with quality control. Adding to their tribulations, the recent licensing agreements inked with MGM to produce Stargate models and Legendary to produce DUNE models, with a distribution strategy centered around a "Collector's Club" subscription model, has elicited wearied responses from loyal aficionados of the niche franchises.

The wider collectibles market finds itself navigating treacherous waters, compounded by the global economic downturn. As two notable companies teeter on the precipice of collapse and several others edge closer to administration or bankruptcy, potential consumers are adopting a cautious stance. In a climate of uncertainty, committing to preorders or subscriptions based on the promise of future model releases is increasingly viewed as a perilous endeavour for consumers."

Fanhome to Return with New Starships This Fall with the Titan, Stargazer, and Farragut (Startrek.com, 19-Jun)
Quote:
You will be able to buy them individually for $64.99. There are special deals for anyone who subscribes — regular issues will only be $54.99, with an extra discount for the first issue. Subscribers will also get a unique variant ship and other exclusive gifts.
US$65.00 + shipping + duty for international orders seems like a lot. The replicas had better be done well.

If there's one thing that I learned from Eaglemoss, it's the importance of being discriminating. I don't want the vast majority of the stuff that we saw on-screen, but there were a few modifications of classic ship designs that looked interesting. I wish FanHome would poll fans on their favorite designs, but of course, that would be a short list.

Master Replicas is wrapping up a clearance sale of all their old Eaglemoss dreck. Sale ends tonight.

Of greater interest is the new release of a STARGATE! I thought for a long time that I would want this, but now that I see it and the way that they did it, I feel surprisingly disinterested -- especially for $US80.00. They could at least add some twinkly lights or something...!

Fanhome just put up their first listing, to be shipped in November: USS Titan as seen in Star Trek: Picard.

I'd like to see a variant with Motion Picture style nacelles.
