There is one thing I'd like to see Mattel change they should send us the list of Early access stuff and see if we are interested in purchasing any to cut the shipping cost and bulk everything. I have 2 packages coming from Mattycollector as we speak and both cost me separate shipping charges

So I've decided to have a little fun here and I'm going to be posting one of my top favorite DC super heroes each day for the next 10 days (at least, it is planned to be my top 10 heroes at this time).

So without further ado, let's cover the first and most obvious choice:

I was first introduced to Batman back in 89 by the Adam West series and I thought it was terrible even at 7 years old. I loved the Burton movie and it was the very first VHS tape I bought with my own money. And then came The Animated Series, which just blew me away and was what truly made me a Batman fan. I was there when Knightfall occurred and enjoyed it, but then I kind of fell out of the comics in the late 90's until Batman Begins hit the scene and I went all out with HUSH, The LOng Halloween, No Man's Land and Cataclysm, Year One, The Dark Knight Returns, Tales of the Demon, etc. I love many things about each era of Batman, but the version from the 70's has become my absolutely favorite. I just absolutely love the stories Denny O'Neil and Len Wein have written, and the artwork by Neal Adams and Dick Giordano is just gorgeous.

I love the history of Batman, his tragic backstory, and the fact that he is brilliant. He has a back up plan to go with a back up plan that is covered by another back up plan. His gadgets are cool and how can you not like the concept of a man who dresses up as a bat to fight criminals? Sometimes they do seem to make Batman over powered these days, as it seems like he is invincible at times rather than just using wit to win a fight, but when he is done right, he is done extremely right. I don't really think there is anything else I can say about the man that nobody does not know about.

Finally, he has probably the most diverse and memorable cast of rogues out of anyone in the DC universe, or even the comic universe next to Spider-Man. Everyone knows the Joker, Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, Two-Face, and Mr Freeze. However, I consider Ra's al Ghul to be his greatest nemesis as the man is the exact opposite of what both Bruce Wayne and Batman together stand for. I also consider Talia to be his true love. Even the lesser rogues such as Scarecrow, Black Mask, Mad Hatter, Poison Ivy, Clayface(s), Killer Croc, Scarface and Wesker, and Calendar Man to mob bosses like Falconi and Thorn are such rich characters you can't help but enjoy what they have to offer.

So with that said, Batman is the first of my top ten favorite heroes of the DC universe.

Check back tomorrow for my next choice.

OMG, I cannot believe I forgot to mention that the 70s was also when Jonah Hex and Swamp Thing were created, which were also amazing.

Yeah, I completely forgot about that. As such, she is now flying between my 30s/40s and 60s/70s shelves.

The saddest part of the 1970's was the Implosion the Metal Men barely starts before it's stopped

Decided to go big or go home, and subscribed to Club Eternia (my original gameplan) but also Club Infinite Earths & the Ecto-1 preorder. I expect Eternia to go through, but I'm crossing my fingers that DCU & the Ecto-1 go through. I was debating on getting into DCU when it seems the line is starting to wane, but it's a great line with good styling & variety of characters so I'm pumped to have so many to slowly collect. As for Ecto-1 I am trying to keep my hopes in check, but I have wanted a screen-accurate & highly detailed Ecto since I was 5! The Real Ghostbusters version didn't cut it even when I was that little (I remember opening the box & saying to my 'rents that it didn't look like it did in the movie), so it'd be a dream to have a really good one.

Well, I just put in for my sub of CIE. We'll see what happens tomorrow, but I think I'll get more out of a hooker named Hope.

Oh, and since my list is more about the characters than a discussion dealing with the toys, I created a topic in the comics section and have now added my second favorite.

Again on my current rant of the price of these things being too expensive, to the point where (almost) no one can afford them. . . how did Mattel come up with $215 as the price for this? The 6" scaled 1966 Batmobile sold at retail for $50. Is there THAT much more in the Ecto-1?

$215 plus tax and shipping.

Then they're also talking about making two new Ghostbuster figs with resculpted torsos so they can sit in the vehicle. The Ecto-1 is not even compatible with the existing figures. So they want you to drop another $25 each (plus tax and shipping) on two "new" Ghostbusters figures.

There we go. There will be final figure to signify the line is done and it will be Granny Goodness in an operatic package. Okay, it'll probably be Amanda Waller more than Granny.

Oops, someone stupidly did something stupid behind Mattel's closed doors and it ended up being recorded. I can't reveal my sources, but I was given this to share. I wonder how long it will take Mattel to take this footage down from the net. :-)

Don't even start that. Mattel set the sub up for failure because they wanted it to fail.

Anyway, I finally got the regular redone Sinestro:
