I think DC's inconsistent scale turns people off when the lines change, the height of the same character in two different 6" lines can differ as much as half an inch!

Over production is why people don't want them. The Market really hasn't changed it's that Mattel over produced some figures (A list heroes and Villains) and most collectors do not need or want 20+ versions of Batman. If you ask most of us who post in this thread you'll find Batman was among their first figures. I think if you were selling Gentlemen Ghost you'd sell them quick

Along with being in a two pack together they were both in the hard to get Giganta wave 8 series.

He was released as part of Wave 8 with the Head and hip of Gigantia and the 1 inch Mini Atom. Due to difficulty obtaining he was placed in the Fates Intertwined Two Pack with Hawkgirl minus the C&C and Mini Atom.

Wave 8
Dr Fate (Classic & Modern)
Vigilante (Modern)
Parademons (Superpower & Comic)
Mr. Terrific
Commander Steel
Gentlemen Ghost
Hawkgirl
Mini Atom (with GG)
C&C Gigantia

oh I forgot about the giganta set(and I have that set too)
ended up with boths sets..but that was when figures were more affordable and I could care less...with the new markups I gotta be a bit more selective...Good ol 'Merican Dollar don't go as far as it use to

It's Gentlemen Ghost that makes that Wave hard to get. It's what makes me think at times Mattel is delousional with what makes a "Strong" figure.

Funny enough, Wave 8 was the only wave of the entire series I got all in one shot. Of course, it was also the only time I had ever seen the wave in stores...

Doubtful. The ones I want to snag to fill out our collection only seem to creep higher in price.

Incidentally, which Riddler are you speaking of, the suit-and-tie version (Wave 5), or the spandex one (Wave 16)?

Y'know, just looking at my DCUC shelf makes me realize why (in my opinion at least, I'm not lookin' to start an argument, haha)the DC Universe Classics line is a lot better than Marvel Legends. Sure, there've been some minor missteps (and a few big'uns) but I have a shelf where guys like Mantis and Uncle Sam can hang out with the likes of Joker and Firestorm, and they all look like they belong together, thanks to the Four Horsemen's consistent awesome work on the line. But when I look at my ML shelf, I see a lot of different artistic styles, figures with tons of detail (Face off Cap) mixed with minimally detailed figures (Bucky Cap) and some really poor body type choices (that Bullseye body mold needs to be burned), with some crazy points of articulation (I'm in favor of swappable hands over jointed fingers any day of the week). So to Mattel, I offer my thanks! Even though they may have bungled it towards the end, they put out the greatest selection of cast members from DC comics in plastic form that the world has ever seen.

my issue with Marvel Legends has been the Over articulation compared to 4 Horsemen style figures. there are a hand full of ML figures that have a toe bend (Dark Wolverine and the Wrecking Crew) all this did was make standing the character hard. Honestly I have ML and DCUC recently the ML figures have gotten better but there is still room for improvement

Agreed. I am a Marvel fan to the core, but I only own one ML figure (Nightcrawler), and only because he's my favorite character, and he was a gift. I have yet to see any other ML figures that I want, at least enough to justify the cost (every time I see Spider-Woman or Black Cat, I'm tempted, but not quite enough).

The DCU line may be incomplete, but nearly every figure we have from that line is solid and consistent. And actually worth the price we paid.

with the 4 Horsemen figures I am a Completist but Marvel Legends I cherry Pick I got WWII Captain America and am happy but was disappointed by Amazing Spider-Man he was simply halfassed. There are still some Major ML Joint issues. Honestly I do not applaud Mattel but rather 4 Horsemen for doing such a steller job.

I put WWII Captain America with the All Star Squaderon I have and he looks awesome

Exactly how I feel dude! On a slightly different note, should anyone have any DCUC figures from the Bat-family or their villains and is willing to trade/ sell, feel free to message me. I used to have a complete set, but circumstances forced me to have to sell it, (and to a re-seller, so I really got shafted on the price) and now I'm back to a place where I can rebuild my collection.

*sigh* precious memories...

I bought a Giganta for 60$ on eBay but her waist is cracked, and I tried to fix it with some glue but couldn't keep it in place... The left leg doesn't connect we'll too since the hole of her crotch part is too big... Well she's gonna have a scarification on her belly and will stand still, but at list I have her!!

Did you ever think about getting a second Elasti-Girl and switching out the waists?

it sounds like the previous owner put Giganta together then took her apart or tried to and in the process snapped the connector point. If I remember correctly the connector was small with openings on either side (top and bottom) if thats cracked your pretty much screwed for connecting the legs to the lower torso. If you do get a new peice be careful taking the other parts off a broken peg is annoying and means needing replacement

Most Mattel DC stuff has been like that for me since wave 19. Though there have been bits and pieces since. it seems the only store that carried any was Kmart which has been going out of business

But for me, I can count full waves on one hand. DC Superheroes 1 (K-Mart only), Rainbow Lanterns, Superfriends, and Batman Unlimited 1 (K-Mart only). Otherwise there's a 50/50 chance between seeing one really bizarre figure like Golden Pharaoh or Cyclotron and skipping the entire wave. To be fair, that's also been the story of Marvel Legends ever since Hasbro picked up the license. I usually don't get any of them unless I order a case. And even that's a crap shoot when it's almost June and you're still waiting for your "March" order to come in.

I haven't even seen anything from Total Heroes yet. Hasn't that supposedly been out since the beginning of the year?

I basically saw portions of waves not full I had to basically complete Wave 19 & 20 on Amazon, DC All Stars I am not getting for a bit and only want 2 figures, only got DCU wave 1 nothing beyond and only 1 figure (Savage Hawkman) same with Batman U I only saw Penguin when released. I managed to get very lucky in Kmart and got Planet X Batman, Dark Knight Returns Batman, and Vampire Batman I also got Man Of Steel Zod at K mart. I found Brgess Meredith Penguin at Toys R Us in Atlantic City last november
