Agreed. I was just looking on the Matty forum again to see the response and one of the users said that they were notified by CS that Damian was also going to be delayed too. Makes me glad I ordered him from China for a cheaper price.

Mkes me glad I did not bother to order Damian. Mattel could at least have offered people the opporunity to combine orders for those waiting or at least free shipping on their next purchase.

Oops, yeah, lol, I definitely should have been a little more clear about that.
Basically, what I meant was that, at the time, I figured that if Mattel was looking for inspiration in unconventional places, such as the Super Friends, then maybe something good would come from that approach, but not necessarily from the Super Friends series.

For example, I was hoping that the Super Friends figures had opened the door to the possibility of Batman TAS and TNBA figures like The Phantasm, The Gray Ghost, and spider-headed Mr. Freeze done in the 6" DCUC style. Fortunately, DCC has taken care of a 6" version of that Freeze for us.
Also, the existence of Super Friends figures made my wish of a Static figure in the DCUC line no longer seem entirely ridiculous.

I feel mattel should Reinburse all shipping charges on Non Subscription Items. As for subscription items just do half the reinbursement (not because I do not care for MOTU Club, but because they were bought in 2013 before any thought was given to this and you agreed to pay the shipping charges. Where those who did day of did not agree until the problems manifested).

Lol! I hate to add further fuel to the fire, as we are mostly all incensed at Mattel right now, but frankly, I have felt that way through the entirety of this series.
I absolutely LOVED Mattel's pre-DCUC Superman series, and Steel, both Supergirls, Lex Luthor, Darkseid, and Mongul are still among some of my favorite figures of the past decade. They have great sculpts and seem to be of a much higher quality, overall, than any of the figures that followed.
Initially, my confidence in Mattel was shaken when the final wave of this series (the one with Steel and modern Supergirl) practically became a discount store exclusive. I grabbed Supergirl and Steel at Wal-Mart, never saw that wave again for months, and then began spotting them, in large numbers, at local Ross stores.
I shrugged off that irritation, as I was excited about the upcoming DCUC line.
Unfortunately, for me, that line was a series of disappointments.

The quality control was so horrible, that I lost interest in this series after about wave 7.
I can forgive distribution problems and questionable character choices, but QC is always a deal-breaker for me. I got sick of finding hard to find figures, especially variants, and having to either return or repair them due to breakage. Beginning with wave 8, I stopped caring about being a completionist, lost interest in completing the BAFs, and chose to buy only characters that I really liked.

My experience as a collector of this line was full of a lot of highs and lot of lows. I truly empathize with you guys who were members of the subscription program, putting up with all that you had to endure.
Even with the problems with this series, I really do like the figures that I have, and I don't plan on getting rid of them any time soon, but I certainly won't be looking back at this line with fond memories, lol !

On a happier note, after my frustrated rant, I relocated a small selectoin of my pre-DUC Superman figures (the ones I previously mentioned) to my desk, right in front of me, and they really are great figures. The 4 Horsemen did a great job on these sculpts. Again, definitely some of my favorites from the past 10 years.

Compared to a lot of other cartoons it's still one of the best. Two-Face was great in almost all of his episodes, Joker was enjoyable pretty much the whole time, and they even made us sympathize for Clayface. Sure there were crap episodes like "the underdwellers" or

That Darkseid and Mongul are awful figures. Darkseid's head looks nothing like his comic counterpart while Mongul is just way too damn small. I wish I could get Steel though.

From my experience, Mongul is one of those characters like Doomsday, The Hulk, sometimes The Thing, etc... who's size varies widely depending on whoever draws him. He's smaller than he should be, yeah, but he's only slightly smaller than the versions drawn by artists like Jerry Ordway or Dan Jurgens.
If you compare him to versions like Ed McGuinness' or Phil Jiminez's from Infinite Crisis, yeah, he's FAAAR too small, compared to their huge interpretations. If the DCUC line had continued, it might have been cool to see a BAF Mongul just slightly smaller than the Lobo or Despero BAFs.

I guess we'll have to remain at odds over Darkseid's head sculpt. Personally, I think it looks like the Darkseid that I'm used to; the one drawn by guys like Dan Jurgens, Ed McGuinness, Doug Mahnke, George Perez, Phil Jiminez, Jim Starlin, and J.G. Jones. It doesn't have the original Jack Kirby aesthetic, but from my experience, it seems like most modern artists give him more of a George Perez-inspired look anyways (well, at least they did before the New52, when Jim Lee gave him that questionable new design).
But, whatever. I'm certainly no New Gods expert, and when it comes to DC, I tend to only read Superman-related comics (and the Events/Crises, prior to Flashpoint), but the head seems consistent with the way he is depicted in the comics I've read.

But anyways, yeah, Steel is incredible. His shoulder pads limit his arm movement, but other than that, he's great. I can't decide of I prefer the one with the shiny chrome "S" or the matte silvery gray one.

Here's the thing for me. The Mongul I know from the comics is the one who appeared in "For the Man Who Has Everything," and he is huge in that one. Even in the JL cartoon he was bigger than Superman. The DCU toy is the smaller than Superman.

As for Darkseid, the version I know is Jack Kirby's own Darkseid from The Fourth Worlds. The belt is not fully accurate on either of Mattel's, but the head sculpt is dead on accurate on the BAF one. The head on the smaller figure looks more like the helmeted head Darkseid had on when he had taken over Turpin's body in Final Crisis.

Almost every character is different based on artist. Superman has changed a lot since 1938, as has Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and so on. I think what 4H has done is masterful they truely deserve 100% accolades for the DCUC, MOTUC, and Ghostbusters lines. If it wasn't for the Middlemen (Mattel and Digital River) I think we would still be getting figures.

well Damien Wayne Robin and Beast boy are basically the same. Same Buck, Height, and width, even the arms are the same. only differences are Head, Hands, Higher Boot, and Robin has a Cape on

Before someone says I am wrong here's why. They showed us Aquqman, Ice, Superboy, Robin, and both Doomsday versions at SDCC in 2013. That gives them nearly 18 months to get a these items to their distribution facilities. While it may be true that Doomsday unleashed was not planned until August 2014, production had to be underway 6 months prior to announced date. Waiting for the last minute is 100% their fault

Mattel's logic is flawed though. They claim it takes 7 months for a figure to be made before they can sell it. However, they claim they decided to go with Doomsday Unleashed because of the good sales for the SDCC one. That is obviously a crock of **** given the time frame.

Honestly, I get why Robin is late. He was added to the line after SDCC last year and was slated to be released in December this year even if the CIE went through. So he wouldn't have been in production at the factory like Aquaman, Ice and Superboy. CIE failing meant that the first three figures sat in a warehouse for several months. From a liability stand point, that's bad. So Robin wouldn't have been made till they were ready for him. Robin's delay was bad luck but Doomsday was poorly planned.

Robin was the April figure for CIE. Initially he was Planned for December 2013 store Release of the Batman Unlimited line and when Matty cancelled the line they simply transplanted him instead of tossing him out (Like they did with dozens of other figures). For that matter most of the CIE figuers were Transplants from planned or potential releases. Still the point is Mattel is using excuses.

Yeah, Mattel's excuses are bull. LIke the Super Powers Superman one would have been in the sub and packed with Mr Mxy. But because the sub did not go through, they decided to sell them separately and at $30 a piece. That means two figures that were supposed to be $23 was being sold for $60 becaus tehy wanted to be spiteful.
