I don't know if this is news to anyone but I was just browsing Amazon when I came across this DCUC Superman figure from the new 52 in case anyone is interested. It seems that it doesn't have the rotary movement on the thigh like all of the other DCUC figures. Then again this might be a picture taken before final production.

Yeah man Black Mask is sick, i got mine last week. I havent ordered Ivy for the same reason. I do have an Elasti Girl on the way of course without the mini version. But i paid $20 for her so the mini version isnt worth $30 to me at all. Does anybody know who or what Uncle Sam comes with?

Don't think so. I think it uses the Clark Kent and Two Face mold from DC Superheroes.

AW SONUVA....I was all camped out in front of the computer yesterday trying to order Black Mask off of Mattycollector.com and I got called away to go take care of something and when I came back he was all "sold out".
![]() ![]() Well if anyone here happened to snag multiples and could hook me up with one for a reasonable price I'd really, REALLY appreciate it....

Star Sapphires aren't necessarily evil, but there's an interesting concept in play: If you remember your ROYGBIV primary colors/spectrum from school, the idea is that the closer to the outside of the spectrum you get, the more the emotion that "fuels" you can overwhelm you and...make you kinda crazy. So Yellow, Green, and Blue Lanterns tend to be stable (or at least not as influenced by the emotion they embody).
Then the Red Lanterns are mostly (or at least start) as almost mindless berserkers (they can get better though). Violet Lanterns/Star Sapphires can get REALLY obsessive, but at least at the moment in the story I think the Star Sapphires are at least considered "semi-good." Quote:
Was Slade ever a good guy? When he founded the Titans East team, he was either blackmailing or drugging all the team members to fight the Teen Titans. I don't recall but maybe this was all while under the guise of being one of the good guys.
![]() His daughter Ravager is usually a Titan, and has a very similar costume. Quote:
not exactly he had a more punisher type role in the early 90s titans 1-2 yrs before zero hour. after he had to kill his son, Jericho who was possessed, he went straight in a kind of merc with honor role. of course he fell off for a few years and then they brought him back full on bad guy
I used to be a BIG fan of Deathstroke. He was one of DC's few cool antiheroic characters (I like Lobo, but let's be honest, Lobo works best as a comedic character, and at the time Black Adam was still a full-fledged villain). Not a big fan of how he reverted in later years. Also, I kept hoping beyond hope that DCUC would put out a figure of him in his blue costume. I may have disliked his portrayal in most of the appearances he made in the costume, but I always really liked the look. I like his "classic" outfit too (especially from an "Dark Captain America" standpoint), but his was one of the few "edgy 90's redesigns" that I liked...mostly because it seemed like a pretty sensible costume, all told. |

Violet Lanterns/Star Sapphires can get REALLY obsessive, but at least at the moment in the story I think the Star Sapphires are at least considered "semi-good." More accurately, he became totally awesome in the late 80's/early 90's which was also when his popularity ramped up considerably. Then after a bunch of poor portrayals and some silliness in his own book about losing his memory, getting de-aged, and becoming immortal they eventually turned him into a garden-variety villain that seemed to have none of the sense of honor that the character started out with. They did very much "beef him up" as a threat, but only to basically tear him back down again (Green Arrow kicked his butt, though to be fair he trained himself intensively for like a year to do it). Dunno what exactly is going on with him in the New 52 except that they messed with a fair bit of the interesting stuff in his origin. I used to be a BIG fan of Deathstroke. I see DC Direct being said by a few people. Is that like the MS vs the ML line? Is it better?

Virtually the same thing. Worse imo. But they have some characters that DCUC simply doesn't have. Plus the detail is nice.

Still, in a lot of cases they don't look out of place next to each other on a display shelf. Not so great for "playing with" though. And yes, there are a lot of characters (and particularly interpretations of characters) in DC Direct that we've never gotten in DCUC, though you might have to dig into the older figures to find many of them. |

I just got DC CIE Black Mask...
He is perpetually looking down. Also his head is too small considering the mask is supposed to be fused to his face & normal head. If he was just supposed to be a skull, it is the right size, but this is a mask on the outside of a head, on the outside of a skull. Argh. On the bright side, it is a very accurate likeness of his comic appearance in Batman, ca. 2005. |
