I still need to get Atrocitus one of these days. Larfleeze not having a biceps swivel was really disappointing.

So one of my friends is cleaning out his place and getting rid of things. As such, he gave me his DC Direct figures and I decided to do some comparison shots with the Mattel ones. If anyone is interested, here is the link to the slideshow as I am too lazy to post all 30 pictures.

Comparison Slideshow by DrKainn | Photobucket

But I'll post a few:

Some nice pictures man. Most of the DC Direct stuff is just too big to fit in with the DCUC figues I have. It is funny how Arkillo goes the other way but he is one of the few DCD figures I have and the detail on those things is great. I just wish Larfleeze could be had for cheap somewhere because I need to get me a Glomulus one day.

Is Larfleeze selling for a high price?

yikes first 2 are too big and last 2 are too small. And you all wonder why I prefer having only one brand. I bet the meetings have the heads at Mattel/4 horsemen eyeballing heads at DC Direct and vice versa.

I have to say that that Larfleeze by DC Direct looks like the Green Lantern Series (Animated) more then the Mattel one (though I am partial) I have to say I do not like the DCD face or hands at all the rest is fine but it looks too animated for my liking

Decided to have some fun with the 80s New Teen Titans team.

I cannot think of any other big name villains this team fought that have DCU figures.

Meh, I'm good. That team there is my definitive Titans team. Yeah sure, there were a few more when they fought Trigon, and Dick was Nightwing, but to me, those ARE the Titans.

Well I spent the day reorganizing my DC shelves so I could group the figures by years. Well, most of them, as there are some exceptions. However, as you can see in the pics, I have a 30s/40s shelf, 50s/60s, 60s/70s, Jack Kirby, 80s, 80s/Super Powers, 90s, 00s, and then the shelf with the N52 figures on top are just random things like other variants, some more DC Direct stuff, customs, and other stuff I'll be getting rid of sooner or later.

Dr. Kain all I can say is Dayam.. I lean more towards the 90's Titans so for me I need next Years Superboy, want Wonder Girl Cassie, Speedy Mia, Terra, Osiris, and Ravager. And Terra would be the main one I want "Hint Hint Mattel"

I'll get it at a Black Friday half off sale or when I see it at Big Lots in 2 years for $10.

You can see in Dr. Kains photos what figures were poorly sized. Atorcitus and the Manhunter Robots are a bit undersized. The Club version of Artocitus is nice bet not tall enough they should have used the Mongul Buck for him it would have made him taller and thicker as for the Manhunters they easily could have been Collect and connects

Just ordered Platinum from Matty's site. Looks like a really solid figure.

Platinum is a Nice figure lacks any attachments like the other three who previously came out (They could have used the sword and shield of Katma Tui) she was a nice combination with Lead and her Tin is a accessory just limited in articulation and has no foot holes so you likely will have trouble keeping tin standing. I hope they make Will Magnus this year in CIE

Tin has a hole in his foot. How do you think I have him on a stand?

I don't recall the Manhunters because out of scale. Atrocitus, yes, however. I think they should have used Etrigan's buck for him.

Anyway, this is so annoying. Mattel revealed an accessory to come with one of next year's figures. Do they do anything like that for DC? NOPE!

The Manhunters are on the Hal/Nightwing body. They should have at least used the Super/Bats body or even better, the Jemm body (PE upper, DCUC male lower but with "Manhunter" taller lower legs). After all, the Manhunters are supposed to be at least as buff as guys like Superman or Orion. Not slender like Hal or Nightwing.

Atrocitus would have been killer on Etrigan's body-style.

The word "buck" really refers to a part of the action figure creating process that relates to the internal structure of a figure, and doesn't have much to do with a completed retail figure. I used to use that term as well, but after learning what it really means, I think "body" works better.

I had to wire him in the stand to keep him from falling over

for the Manhunters it's a Mix in the New 52 they are shown to be taller then Atrocitus, on DCUO there is one thats 2 stories tall, or in Old Universe they are slightly taller then a 6 foot person

The problem with DC stuff is the interest has been low I would say if they ever Max out you would start to see accessories. I am for a DC Beast Line, Vehicles, and Special Stuff

Beast Line: Victory, Twaney, All Green Animals for Beast Boy and Regular for Jayna

Vehicles: Invisible Plane, Batman vehicles, Bug plane

Special Stuff: Light Up Central Power Batteries

I don't care about beasts and vehicles, as both GI Joe and MOTUC proved to me they are absolutely worthless to me after I bought them and they just sat in a closet collecting dust.
