Seems to be a bit of a lack of DC appreciation going on here...

What is there to appreciate? Our unfinished teams like the New Teen Titans and Legion of Super Heroes? An upcoming $40 accessory? A $40 repaint of Superman? Missing core villains like Granny Goodness, Merlyn, Vertigo, Wotan, etc? The fact that Mattel gave DC fans the finger because they couldn't market the line properly? Or how about that the faces on most of the figures released in the last 12 months has had a horrible face? Ice, Ra's, Lurch, etc? Or how about steroid Damien that comes out in Dec?

If its in regards to shipping a DC 6" figure to you or someone else, then it's on-topic.

or DCC/DCD stuff? or Total Heroes?
Those are included in the topic of this thread, which is 6" DC action figures. This is not just a DCUC thread, and it never has been. The only reason DCUC is in the title is because it was the most well-known at the time the thread was created. If this thread was only about DCUC, then the "6-inch" part of the title would be redundant.

or even my 4th of July shows 3 Marvel Legends.
Even though you're over a week early, the pic still has 6" DC figures in it and is therefore still on-topic.

I know you Harp on MOTU and DCUC being different but what affects one will affect the other.
Not necessarily. Mattel dropping Digital River as a partner? Yeah, that could affect both, depending on when the change took place. But MOTUC announcing the open enrollment start date for its last year of subscription? Nope.

You could appreciate what you have gotten over the years and the many other 6" DC figures out there not made by Mattel. I'm not saying this thread has to be all hearts and flowers, but it doesn't have to be all doom and gloom, either.

The title does say DC Universe Classics Appreciation not DC Appreciation thread.

Well it was a tad early but I figured it would fit since I missed Memorial Day, D-Day, Flag Day.

Actually the affect for 2015 Sub will be less DC crossover Signup's but with Mattels 2015 plan I think they loaded the gun and now are pointing it at their foot.

I do agree here, Yeah we didn't get everyone we wanted. Heck we can make our own Like Mattel can stop that as long as you do not sell it they cannot say a word, Plus I think if they are not producing a similar item (Total Heroes are not the same Quality) they cannot even stop that.

Out of curiosity, did you stop reading that paragraph after the sentence you highlighted in my post? Because I'm pretty sure I explained why DCUC was in the title in the two sentences right after it.

Why would there be any "crossover" subs at all? I would think if you're a fan of MOTU and collect those toys, you'd get the sub whether you like DC or not. If you're a fan of DC but don't like MOTU, why would even bother getting the MOTUC sub?

Unless what you're trying to imply here is that some DC fans got MOTUC subs simply for the added benefits (early access, most likely) to aid them in their DC collecting. Thus, in 2015 there will be no more DCUC and DC fans who don't like MOTU won't have a reason to get a MOTUC sub.

If that's the case, then it seems to me like an overly complicated and expensive way to try to make sure one gets certain figures.

I did in fact read it but I view this as a Primarily DCUC Thread if others want to discuss "Other" figures that's their thing.

I do believe there were some DC people who were willing to accept an offer of MOTU figures just to get DC figures, Other wise why would offer it as an extension.

As a Side note on the Early Access if you want Standard Access to the Monster High 2 Pack. Forget it the pack voucher Sold out in 2 hours.... That's why Early Access should not be around.

You can "view" it however you want. It still doesn't change the actual topic of this thread, which is still 6" DC toys. if Arkers want to discuss Total Heroes or DCC here, they're more than welcome.

If they want to discuss Movie Masters or older WB Studio Store toys, that's ok too. As long as it's DC and roughly 1:12 scale, it's fair game here.

I still think that's a silly idea, but to each their own.

I think it's a cool benefit to have, but maybe it could use some tweaking. Maybe Early Access should be limited to only products associated with the customer's sub, rather than all products on Mattycollector. Or better yet, give Early Access its own subscription, limit it to a set number available per year and allow everyone a chance to get it without having to subscribe to a particular toy line.

This may all be a moot point after MOTUC is over, since Mattel may do away with Early Access themselves since there won't be any more sub. services.

It doesn't matter at this point. MattyCollector is clearly done next year once MOTUC ends.

I've been thinking abiut adding the upcominc Batman figure from the second series of the Total Heroes line to my small collection of 6" scaled DC figures. I like that it looks kinda like it's based on the Hush Batman suit.

I was wondering if someone could take a picture of the first series TH Batman figure next to one or more of the figures I already have? Sort of give me an idea of how the base figure's sculpt will mesh with the other figures I have, or another release of their sculpt. I've got Mattel's new 52 Batgirl, Movie Masters Bane and John Blake, and the Batman Legacy figures of first appearance Catwoman and Super Powers Mr. Freeze.

I've also been thinking about adding some other figures. What do people think of the Batman Legacy Joker and Catman figures? I kinda regret not grabbing the Joker figure the one time I saw it at retail, and I remember the Catman figure looking kinda interesting.

Catman is pretty Cool he's one of those figures that was long overdue when it was finally release he was one of about 3 figures I got from the Legacy Line the rest were just Re-Releases (the other 2 were Batgirl and Mr. Freeze remakes never had a chance when they came out in 2006) I think Catman was like the only New Figure besides 1st Appearance Catwoman that Matty Made.... When I get a chance I'll send you a picture....

I have to admit, it had been a while since I saw the figure, so I looked up a review for him... and I'll most likely not be adding him to my collection after all. I forgot how ridiculous his outfit looked. I remember liking the idea of his claws, but don't remember why I was thinking about getting him.

I would count first appearance Batman. That was another figure I regret passing on the few times I saw it.

I like the figure personally his face features a little Stubblesq look if you look at it closely my only complaint is that he is missing the CM logo under the scratches other wise he is more or less he is Batman in Maroon, Gold, and Orange... The Claws are sweet though they used them on a 4 inch Batman that came out with the Dark Knight rises in the 5 pack

Not to go totally off topic here, but how long do you give it before the Action Figure manager is let go? I would say within one year of that the 4H DC stuff may be back...

NO..... The remaining DCU figures and all MOTU are 4H tooled. I cannot see Mattel throwing that out, but again this is Mattel we are talking about they don't care about the customers they do have so nothing would surprise me

If you're talkin' about Toy Guru, I'd give it a few months. Once MOTU is done, there's basically nothing left for him to work on. No retail stuff , no Mattycollector website... He'll probably be shuffled off to the retail team for DC stuff, or whatever's left of it.

I finally saw some (well, two, but that technically counts as "some") of the Total Heroes for the first time at Toys R Us about a week ago. $15! Wasn't most of the push behind TH that DCUC had gotten too expensive?

That's TRU's mark-up for you. It's been a while since I saw them, but I believe the normal retail price is ten bucks. Which isn't bad for what they are, and considering the Multiverse figures cost about the same.
