I don't really go for the bigger figures these days but I just got the Suicide Squad Batman as a gift and I have to say it's pretty sweet. All the extra goodies he has are a nice touch.

I found one last week at TRU. They had 2 Harley and a sea of Silver jacket Joker. Is Joker that overpacked in the TRU cases?? or is the Jacket Harley just going that fast?? I really was low on funds but I got her and almost nothing else (except comics) last week. I am trying to have money for SDCC stuff, right now.

Did you like it?

I liked it overall but I thought the Batgirl prologue was a bit too long and, well, you know... spoilersthe idea of her and Batman having sex doesn't really sit right with me. I guess I get why they threw that in to further motivate Batman later in the story but it still felt unnecessary. end spoilers Once it actually got to The Killing Joke I really liked it. Mark Hamill once again proves he is the definitive voice of the Joker. The animation was okay but I was hoping for something better. More saturated colors like the comic had might have helped.

They put out a 10 minute featurette a while back explaining the reason they went with the animation style they did. They said that Bolland's style of the comic was to hard to animate directly so they went with a style more like Kevin Noland ( I thinks that's who they said) since he had a similar style but was easier to transfer to animation.

Neat. I guess it's just that the last movie they did like this (a specific comic adaptation) was The Dark Knight Returns and while they obviously couldn't make every thing look like Miller's work it seemed like they captured the style better for animation than this. Mainly it was Batman's ears in The Killing Joke, they spread out a bit too much like Batman's 1st appearance, and then Joker's hair looked off to me (too tall or spiky or something I can't quite put into words well). Just a minor nitpick I had but the imagery itself (what they were doing and how they did it) was pretty spot on to the source down to the way Joker ends his song (I liked this bit for finally giving that song an actual tune since the comic clearly could not include musical instructions).

Cool concept and I really like the setup.....I'd love to see it executed with a bit more stylized fighting poses..(like off a comic book page) I say give it a shot...if you wanna...

Wait what? Matty is finally doing a C&C Doomsday? Maybe I'll hold off trying to save up for the Matty Collector version after all.

The background is from extreme sets. They sell crowd backgrounds for wrestling figures and backstage backgrounds. I use this one for generic warehouse scenes LOL. I tried doing more dynamic poses with Batman but the MOTU buck wouldn't cooperate so that's why Batman looks so casual LOL!

It's the New 52 version of Doomsday and not post-crisis version. I don't own the previous Mattel versions so i'll go with this one for now.
