Nah, you can choose which server to use. You have the option of US or EU. You can obtain gear either by buying it or finding it by defeating enemies or smashing stuff. That's how I found my shoulder pads.

im gonna have a read up about DCOU because i dont really understand the premise of a monthly subscription online thing because i have never done it before.

im just using to ndoing campaigns on games.

Yea, monthly Fee like World of Warcraft and stuff. So you buy the game, then pay monthly, tri-monthly, ect.

No offline, purely online. Game couldn't be completed without others help.

Lifetime membership is $199 and worth it. LOL. I know this because I paid for one and I'm glad I did. I bought the game, played for 3 months, then stopped playing for like 6 months and I didn't lose any money. This happened with another MMO I used to play cept I was paying monthly and I basically paid those extra months for nothing. A lifetime membership works out to waaay cheaper.
