I bought the first wave at Meijer this morning. I haven't found the deluxe yet. I'd much rather find the MU Loki/Frost Giant pack.

These are the three I want. I've been looking everywhere all week and all I've found are the kid sized helmets, the foam swords, and a big light-up Thor.

Found 'em today at one of my local Targets. Paint apps were good, much to my surprise after hearing scuttlebutt on other sites that they were terrible. Picked up basic Thor, Loki, and the regular and deluxe Frost Giants.

Annoyance: For some reason I thought these would have upper bicep swivels. They do not. Otherwise articulation is good.

The Frost Giants are easily the best of the bunch. Might look into army building them a bit. The "Deluxe" Frost Giant is exactly the same as the regular Frost Giant (unlike IM2 where the deluxe figures had lessened articulation), just with more/different accessories and different coloration (He'll likely be my "Frost Giant Officer.")

Basic Thor and Loki are about the same height. Both are shorter than either version of the Marvel Universe Thor (and less massive, having normal human proportions as opposed to a barrel-chest and tree-trunk legs).

Found the Deluxe set at Trget. Looks ridiculous, at least the one I saw did. Blaster Thor or some odd thing like that.

I picked up Odin, Loki, and a basic Frost Giant at Toysrus last night. I wish they had MU hip joints, but they're still pretty great. It's so awesome to have a 3.75" Odin!

What figures do you consider your standard for articulation in the 3.75" scale?

The only joint(s) most of the figures are missing is an upper bicep swivel, otherwise they're comparable to virtually anything else on the market.

^ Uh, Toy Fair.

And yes, they were all revealed last month. And supposedly, this is all Hasbro has planned for this year (as far as the Thor movie line is concerned).

Well, there are a couple figures not pictured (The Frost Giant we've seen, and "All-King" Odin, and "King Laufey" have both popped up in a retailers' computer).

However, despite saying "20 figures planned for this year" Hasbro also flat-out said that "we're planning on including some comic-inspired and "concept" figures in later waves" which indicates we're probably getting a bit more than the initial 20 (especially since all 20 are supposed to be out before the summer is over...you know they'll have something planned for the DVD-release/holiday shopping timeframe in the fall). Of course, that's assuming the line sells reasonably well.

Yeah, huge lack of comic stuff- I wonder if the lack of support for the Thor line has anything to do with the over 200+ (i have counted) Iron Man 2 figures sitting on shelves here in Ames, IA. (insert questioning smiley here)

Also, anyone else notice how FREAKING SHORT the "good, fully armored" Thor out there now is? The one with the spike hidden in the sword? Really hope a different figure comes out, similar, but taller.

I would say lack of support for the Thor line has more to do with Thor being an unproven property on the big-screen. Remember the first Iron Man line wasn't really all that big (in terms of volume/number of figures). Same thing with XMO: Wolverine...not a huge line. Basically, retailers are hedging their bets and guessing that Captain America will be the bigger of the two lines/movies. Probably a safe bet. Marvel's Thor is pretty obscure, even compared to where Iron Man and Cap were/are before their movies.

As for the figure's height...he seems to be in scale with the other figures, more or less. Hemsworth is 6'4". In-comics Thor is 6'6". He's not supposed to be some 7' tall giant (like the Frost Giant). Yeah, he's shorter than MU Thor, but this isn't MU Thor, it's movie-Thor.

And yet he's shorter than Odin, Iron Man, Loki and barely taller than Whiplash...

I was referencing the reveals at Toy Fair, not the pic he posted when I typed that.

Well Hasbro also said that the 20 figures were for this year. They could very well be planning to carry the line over into 1st quarter next year to build hype for Avengers, or combine it with the Captain America line as an Avengers preview wave.

The problem is that since all of that would be next year, Hasbro won't say any more about it. The general rules is they don't give specifics on any product beyond the current year as stuff like that is still subject to change.
