I have a hard time determining if I like a figure from prototypes, Thor looks like a Zombie.

Deluxe Thor is new though. I am underwhelmed by the Thor movie figures so far, honestly.

Being a big Thor fan I was really stoked about the movie and the upcoming figures. Now while I still am excited about the possibility of a good movie, my hopes for the toy line are about dead. I mean, come on first no announced comic line and now Thor with a repaint of an IM2 deluxe backpack. Why? The Thunder god now needs missile back packs? I know you'll say that that along with the gimmick swords each figure has are to attract kids and maybe they will but still. My only hope now is that if they aren't going to do a comic line then MAYBE MU might dedicate a wave to Thor and his supporting characters like they have in the past for the Xmen.

I actually feel the exact same way you do.

This hurts to look at this.

Every 3 3/4 Marvel Line hasbro has produced has some at least a few redeeming qualities if you were unhappy bout them. Spiderman 3 3/4 has a great Rhino figure and Carnage is decent. XMO had a good Cyclops and Deadpool.

This has nothiinngggggggggg. The only thing I'm glad to see is the Frost Giant and that is so much of a stretch. I'll buy the movie versions of Thor, Loki and Odin just for completion sake but this is looking worse and worse every time I look at it.

Does anyone feel like the paint apps on all of these figures look horrendous too? Even at the conventions, the pictures of the prototypes or figures on display just seemed so bad..

The Thor line as as whole is underwhelming to me. The Captain America and 2011 Marvel Universe lines look much better. It feels like XMO all over again(with regards to Thor).

I wish hasbro and Marvel would team up and make 2 seperate lines. Basically 1 line for collectors and die hard fans, the other orriented towards small kids and young teens. They should continute the yearly waves of new MU figures but then create a sub category for comic theme figures for the line, and keep the movie style ones cheaper with a retarded blaster pack or snot launcher. I don't even use the stupid guns that came with Iron man 1 figures, or the stupid spiral blast effects for Iron man from MU, they sit on the shelf infront of them... Sometimes stupid accessories take away from me wanting to buy a figure. it looks bad in packaging and worse on display, but the bright colors mean $$ for hasbro and Marvel.... we need quality products for a reasonable price with good supply, because we definatley have the demand. If mu figures dropped to $6 everybody would buy the entire wave or peg not just 1 or 2, or if the options for better lines came up, more collectors and customizers would jump on... just my opinion

The developments with this line get sadder and sadder just like developments for the movie leave me more and more worried. Kenneth Branagh rocks, but I'm afraid that he won't even be able to save this movie from the campy feeling it seems to have so far.

I actually really like the Thor figure(NOT the really dorky one with shoulder blasters), but yes, everything else is so underwhelming.

I'll reserve judgment until we see more of the line, but it looks like Hasbro is shortchanging this line in favor of Captain America.

I had a bit of a hunch that might happen. Thor's the most obscure of the Avengers "Big 3" and seems the most "out of place" within the Marvel Movie-verse as we've seen it thus far (his movie may of course change that perception). Plus with Cap, Thor, and Transformers 3 all hitting next year, shelf space will be at a premium during the summer, so it looks like Thor will be the line that gets the short end of the stick.

The figures are not terribly impressive thus far, but there have been a lot of times that stuff that looked underwhelming online was very cool once I had it in-hand, so I'll reserve judgment in that regard.

I agree that shelf space next summer will be hard to come by and some line{s} will suffer. I think it will be Thor and unfortunately MU will too. Thor may be the most obscure of the big 3 Avengers but I think from a kids standpoint Hasbro may be dropping the ball. How long has sword/sorcery type movies and such been big with kids? Kinda as long as Sci Fi so some of the posiible toys from this line like TRUE Frost Giants or Surtur or trolls I believe would sell. I know, ain't gonna happen but that being said, I have to admit that I will pick up a Thor{to use the head for a Thunderstrike custom}, Odin, maybe Loki, and a couple of frost giants{to army build an Atlantean army for Namor since they kinda remind me of how Atlanteans are drawn in Marvel} but unless they have a comic line or AT LEAST release movie versions of Sif, Heimdall, Balder, and the Warriors Three I gotta say this Thor fan will pass on this toy line.

I'm sure this line will get more than one wave, but at this point it's looking like it'll probably be about the same overall "size" as XMO: Wolverine was. As opposed to Iron Man 2 (which I'm getting the impression is the kind of launch they're going for with Captain America, but we all know TF3 will be the "biggest" toy launch next summer).

There's a "real" frost giant coming as a Wal-Mart MU exclusive...with a classic comic Loki pack-in.

So far, I'm personally only interested in the main movie 3 for now. Though a comic series thunderstrike or Beta Ray bill would be nice.

Mostly I just want a movie thor for my movie avengers collection. I'll probably get the one with the sword, as I like the look of it in hammer mode for a thunderstrike hammer.

Yeah really looking forward to that Frost Giant and Loki. But like I said I'll at least pick up the "big" 3 for my little movieverse I'm building.
